I see many posts and answers that have thoughts that present hatred towards Islam. What's the reason?

Of course I know most hatred comes form 9/11 & the war, but that is not how many Muslims are. I don't go around saying that all Christians do is dress up in Easter bunny costumes trying to convert non-Christians. I just think that if you are going to hate something, it should have a justified reason.

The reason is ignorance, my friend. Fanatical extremists exist in many religions not just Islam. Unfortunately, contemporary life in the UK is plagued by terrorism initiated by Muslim fanatics whose views on Islam are so distorted that they mirror Hitler's views on Christianity. Do you see people shouting at Christians about that? No, but the Germans still have to suffer the consequences.
I live in the East End of London in a predominently Muslim community and try and always be respectful to them and their culture. I expect the same back and have not a single complaint on that level. I have taught the most delightful Muslim children in art classes (and what great art they produce) and I have been reading the Holy Qur'an in an attempt to understand Islam more. I find it a fascinating religion and am in awe at the focus and committment of its followers.
Peace!

there is a general suspicion towards groups that are immigrants...
the hatred towards Muslims starts with countries that has a lot of Muslim immigrants and there societies are used to viewing any newcomers as a threat to their jobs, economy etc.
it helps ignorant xenophobic people the fact that Muslim culture makes some Muslim believers especially the elder stand out because of dress code. it is easier to single out the obviously different.
a third cause would be that specific terrorists use the name of Islam in their actions although they are not the majority of Muslim believers they are the most commercialized because violence sells.
there is ignorance everywhere and xenophobia applies to all cultures, dont take it so hard it is easier for people to be blind fanatics through anonymity
have a nice day

The war & 9/11 HELLO You ever watch the news? I thought that was the fastest growing religion in the United States so it seems like they would all banned together and show the world they really are not killers that do not tolerate other beliefs and kill whole familys because they will not convert. Just a thought

you can't be serious with that question.some people believe it or not never heard of Islam until September 11,so that's all they know and with all that's going on in the world right now, many will never want to know .there was a time when most thought the Amish were a fluke religion, but after those shootings and the forgivness and peace they showed the world, they don't look like flukes now, people are becoming interested in their way of life, you figure that out.

If you read all the postings, you'll find just as many anti Christian messages as you do those that are anti Muslims. There is enough hatred to go all around.

No offense. But people associate what happened on 9-11 with Muslim's and the Al-Queda types that say "Kill America" make some quite hateful.

The western news media--my favorite example is:
''Muslim man kills 5 for bus''
''Man kills 5 on bus''-not ''Christian man kills----''
You will also find this hate comes from Christians. Islam poses too great of a threat to their religion, to win converts from it. And, let's face it, Christianity is an illogical religion--Jesus is G-d? How can they believe this? I think alot of them do not deep down believe it------therefore, Islam can give a better concept of Jesus and who he was. It scares them.
Even the Christian true believers do not know enough about Islam, and the unknown is scary to them.
G-d is One. Who knows, maybe this hate is their way of recognizing what their religion really is, and their facing the truth about it.
Added note-I am neither Christian nor Muslim.

I work with many muslims, they all seem fine and happy and we all get along well. It is the new fear brought on by radical muslims that incite the negatives. Look at how the US viewed American Japanese after Pearl Harbor. Time and Moderation will return everything to normal. it is up to Moderate Islam to shout down the radicals.

People fear what they do not under stand and they will not take the time to understand. Just look at christian history, crusades,
burning people who do not believe the way they do. They even hate each other if they do not believe in the same thing. Catholics and non Catholics have killed each other off just for pure ignorance
