it was written by men but inspired by God's holy spirit.when a secretary writes a letter on her boss's orders you don't assume that the secretary wrote her/his own wishes and thoughts.

The word is 'fallible'

The perception of man is always fallible (because humans can only perceive and communicate generalizations), so even if the Bible was infallible in its writing, people would still butcher its teachings through ignorance, stupidity, and misunderstanding.

Like most debates, the answer to your question boils down to word games.

A director of a company gets his secretary to write his letters and sent it out to whom ever. Sometimes even sign the letter for him. Does that mean that it was not "written" by him , that they are not his thought or indeed his letter. Does it mean that what is in the letters are lies or falsehoods! ?

I will let you answer this by your own reasoning.

Likewise God has used human secretaries , the ones , who have written the Bible. True the Bible is written by man, but with Gods stamp of approval!

Of course. It is one of the biggest works of fiction around. I'm not saying that there isn't some truth to it, but it's like the game of telephone...you start with one message and by the time you're done, you have something totally different.

Yes, it is. But that doesn't mean it's without merit. Most of the Bible is based on metaphors, or lessons in morality. Morarity is something we could use a little more of. So go ahead and read it!

hI stumbled on this question while looking for the correct spelling of a word.

There are many ways to answer this. First my answer may not be what many want to hear but this is fact not as I want you to believe but as I know. To understand the answer you first have to put down everything you think you know. Everything. The Bible is a book written over thousands of years by many people from all around he world as it was then. It is first hand and second hand accounts of the lives of many people. It is a written history of the people but most of all of God and his power. At tis point again I say put down all you think you know. There are many that just cannot accept this because it cannot be proven accept but following.
God created the universe, it did come from somewhere. God created man, we did come from something. Each item on this earth created out of wonder we will never fully understand and many question it because they don't want to accept that by God. So many rule out God finding answers elsewhere. But anytime they find something that leads to God, it cant be just because they don't believe. Just because a person does not believe something does not make it a lie or a falsehood until they change the facts.
The Bible written by many for the glory of One. You will not find anywhere in the Bible anything pointing to man but only to the glory of God. One being, Christ who glorified God. The bible was not written to glorify man and no man profits from the Bible. That being said, no matter how much money one can earn from the word of God, you don't take it with you. Put down all you have heard in the news. Everything about the bible is how you live in this life and how to live in this life. the only person who gains from what is in the Bible is the reader and only by believing. Many fight against the Bible because they want no rules to govern them, they do not want to be held accountable for their actions which makes it easy to argue against. The accountability of the Bible takes place after a person dies from this life. The promise of the Bible is not of this life but for this life guide a person.
The Bible in many forms has existed since time began as we know it. You will not find one part of the Bible that is written for the benefit of any man because its not about man as a group but man as an individual. It is about a way of living and the reward for living that way. In no part of it is it a gain for any person but in its entirety, for the Glory of God. Now back to the beginning. It was written long before Christ was born that he was coming. It was written how he would get here long before he did.
The only person to gain from the Bible is the reader and you have to read it with your heart and not your mind and that is where the problems arise. We are all intelligent people, we hope, we ananlize everything. If it does not fit what we are taught then we discard it.
Now if God could form the universe and create man, could he not inspire a creature he created to write a message down to those He loves?

I have lived my entire life, and not one time can I look back over my life and find one point that was not influenced by God. Look at it from a simple aspect, If you travel you use a map. If you live you live for some reason and many try to find that reason. The Bible is a map that leads you home. the only person to benefit from traveling using that map s where you as a person end up. The directions in the book are defined and simple and as you follow the directions you will encounter distractions. the more you follow the bigger the distractions. But by following the map you get to see many things you never imagined and those things come from the faith you gain by reading the book that was written specifically for you by God.
