CASE stands for Computer Aided Software Engineering
CASE is used in OOA (Object Oriented Analysis). The Analysis phase involves analysis of the proposed system, thus developing analysis model, which would be used for designing. Hence it's a time-consuming process with numerous resources involved

Therefore, CASE tools are used for this purpose wherein the Analysis phase can be automated, thus saving time. However CASE tools are used for general purpose & are not made for customized software. Hence, even though analysis of a chat server in Yahoo might be differnet than that of Google, the CASE tool will not consider these differences.

Wikipedia Definitons:

Computer-aided software engineering (CASE) is the use of software tools to assist in the development and maintenance of software. Tools used to assist in this way are known as CASE Tools.

Object-oriented analysis and design applies object-modeling techniques to analyze the requirements for a context — for example, a system, a set of system modules, an organization, or a business unit — and to design a solution. Most modern object-oriented analysis and design methodologies are use case driven across requirements, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. The use case concept was invented with object oriented programming, but it is also very well suited for systems that will be implemented in the procedural paradigm.

Hope this helps.

i'm no longer a mom yet i might advise that a guy might fairly adventure the sensation via leaping bare on a bicycle from which the seat has been bumped off. try this a pair of dozen cases and he could come close. I doubt he might like the effect like a woman loves her toddler toddler although. Rose P.

Computer Aided Software Engineering. It is where you use a computer tool to generate computer programs rather than code them by hand.
