Why when there is an exhibition or any occasion there is alot of flyers giving out?

I've notice that every exhibition ppl are giving out flyers and pamplets. isn't the gov is look at enviromental hazard thing. y are ppl still wasting so much paper when we are looking on saving the trees. and also all those flyers and pamplets always end up in the trash cans of scatering all around the floor. can such things be done to safe more trees and our enviroment are getting more hazard and mre and more ppl are getting sick, we also had too much new viruses and sickess. can the enviromental ppl do something about it. even the reefs under the water is also dying.

this is a cheap advertising source. It has been done for years,and is doubtful it could ever be changed.I know it is wasteful because most all I get ,I do send for recycling, but most people throw in trash can.
