well sometimes pups get diarrhea from a food switch. since this is a new pup, if your not feeding the same thing as she was getting before she came home w/you then that could upset her tummy.
what are you feeding her? sometimes wet food can cause diarrhea, a LOT of canned wet food has a lot of grain product in it...which is FIBER, that causes loss stool. i won't feed my dogs that crap, they are carnivores they don't need all that fiber that canned food has in it, they need protein (MEAT).
a good quality dry dog food is better.
did your pup get her first shots? if not...DO get them!! they protect the pup from a NUMBER of serious illnesses. if she has..great, but they too can cause diarrhea for a couple of days...no worries there.
has she been wormed? sometimes parasites can cause that too. if not, get her de-wormed.
puppy shots and de-worming is not as expensive as some ppl think.
if she has diarrhea for more than 2 days, add a little bit of cooked white rice (like the boil in bag rice, it's easy) that helps a bit. then call your vet.

If your pup hasn't been wormed lately within the last two weeks,I would reworm her.Keep her on the same food at all times and don't switch food unless you do it gradually by adding the chosen brand and decreasing the old brand until you get her on the complete chosen brand. At the moment take away all food and water and give your pup the baby non-flavored pediolyte, you may have to force it down her,but get all you can down her for 24 hours. Then try boiling some chicken ,cut into small pieces and put in a blender with some broath, puree it and feed her.You can also give her some pepto Bismol about 1 teespoon per 5 lbs. every 6 hours, this will help line her intestines. The Nemex 2,or Panacur is a good puppy wormer.

Puppy's normally do get diarrhea when they are brought home to there new homes. It is normally brought on by a change in there diet. If you have changed there food try to contact the person you bought the puppy from and see what they were feeding it or you can try a puppy food with lamb and rice in it that will help settle the puppy's stomach. I used to own an american husky that had the same problem and the lamb and rice dog food worked awsome. Or you could add some rice to there regualr food when you feed him just make sure you cook it first.

Well it could be due to many different situations.
1st I would look at where you got the pup from, many places a pup comes from will tend to have runny feces. Which could be due to parasites in the intestines. Which in that case you need to be on a dewormer to rid the parasites.
2nd It could be due to a change in diet or food. Find out what the breeder/kennel you got the pup from and try changing to that same food, or gradually change the pup off that food to a food of your choice. Do this by mixing part old food with park new food and reducing to smaller amount of old each time.
3rd It could be due just to stress of changing to a new environment.

I would first rule out the parasites and check with your vet first with the more harmful reason, then work your way down your options.

First determine what you have been feeding this puppy.

If anything other than what is recommended, stop feeding it to the puppy.

Usually this will resolve on it's own.

No need to worry.

Make sure the puppy gets plenty of water to make up for what it is loosing in it's stools.

Keep her outside, until she is over it. Maybe it was something she ate. If dogs are sick they eat grass. Maybe get her out on the lawn. If you are really worried, maybe you could take her to the vet. She may have an infection.

switch to dry dog food. Certain people food is no good for a dog. Turkey is real bad so is chocolate. stay away from people food.

Give her dry food and maybe a handful of cooked rice in with her bikkies. Also, please dont give her milk, as this will make her worse! Maybe take her to a vet if she doesn't improve.

My puppy gets it now and then--experiment with her diet 'til you find what may be the cause.
