My friends and I are travelling to Bangkok next February, but recently someone told me that Chatuchak has closed down or something. Is that true? What's going on? Thanks, I appreciate your answers.

The affected market is not the Chatuchak Weekend Market, but another market nearby. The weekend market continues to operate as usual. It will be good if people can know the details before reporting as facts fragments of the reports.
There are about 3 other markets, besides the Weekend Market in Chatuchak.
You will be alright during your visit.
