Here are the best sites I know of to get expert information about DNA. They are reliable. They take 3 swabs on each subject. They must match for that persons test to be acceptable. I know that a Father and Son, that were not communicating, each took a DNA test and Family Tree DNA figure it out, in one case.

courts will convict or overturn a conviction on dna evidence.
maternal dna helps tracing geneology because maternal mitochondrialdna does not change thru the generations. i don't know why, and it makes no sense to me, but i am telling you what i have read.
paternal dna changes with every person, but retains certain key charateristics, so that one could see if the same man fathered different children.
