No, you won't lose your saved documents on hard disk by reinstalling MS Word(if thats what you mean be saying reloading). Only, your settins/preferences which you had set before will be made default.

Re-installing the program isn't going to solve this problem. The fact that you have sent documents to the 'virtual printer' makes me think that when you now try to print documents it is not defaulting to your proper printer. If you print by clicking on the print icon, before you actually click, just wait and see what label comes up - is it your main printer? If not, go the long way round, File, Print then click on the downward arrow to the side of the printer name that comes up and change it to the proper printer and set it as your default. Unfortunately you do not have 2007 where saving as pdf format once you download Microsoft's add in is so simple and doesn't corrupt the document at all. Quite the reverse, I find it makes documents so much cleaner looking.

short answer is no.
long answer is maybe. I HIGHLY doubt you are using an ancient version of Word, but the very old verisons (windows version 3.x kind of old) saved documents in the actual Word directory. By default, the newer versions will save documents in the My Documents folder. If you purchased or had office installed from 1997 on then your documents should be fine.
If your still concerned, backing up your data never hurts!

Dear Sir
Don't worry .
you have to differentiate between 2 things , the first is the program files and the second is the out put files . all Micro soft word files are saved in *.doc files , what you have to do is : go to start menu . select search , select the drive where you save your files . click search
when you get the result copy all the files to another folder on another drive , remove the win word and re install it and you will have all your *.doc file saved . that if you don't know where you saving your files . if you usually save your files in known folders then don't worry about it it won't be deleted when you remove the win word

Several answerers have told you you won't lose the documents as long as you've saved them somewhere. But please, uninstall Word, don't try to delete anything, then reinstall. Go to Control Panel and Add/Remove. Remove it from there, do a restart, then reinstall Word and do another restart. This should fix the problem.

it depends on where you have saved them
you will not lose any unless they are in a directory that is wiped out. You would not normally save things in the program directory.
Word defaults to My Documents.
Uninstalling should be quite safe,
You also have the option of doing a repair - through add and remove - select word and then select repair
