Constipation may also be caused by conditions such as:
Primary diseases of the colon (stricture, cancer, anal fissure, proctitis)
Metabolic disturbances (hypercalcemia, hypothyroidism, diabetes mellitus)
Neurologic disorders (parkinsonism, spinal cord lesions)
If functional constipation and other diseases have been ruled out as causes, patients may need additional tests to confirm the diagnosis and/or exclude other conditions:

Choice of laxatives:
1. Functional constipation: - It is symptom rather than disease. It may be due to inadequate fibers in diet, irregular bowel habit, and lack of exercise.
It does not need laxative. Dietary measures, regular bowel habit and exercise are sufficient. If these measures are not sufficient, bisacodyl or senna preparations can be given once or twice a week.
2.Bed ridden patient: -
To avoid constipation, give fibrous diet with plenty of water. If constipation became a problem, enema, liquid paraffin, besacodyl or senna can be used.
3.To avoid straining during defecation (harnia, haemorrhoids, cardiovscular disorders)
Laxative is necessary to use in such case. Bisacodyl, senna preparations, isapgol.

Thats why you should select teh laxative as you can be categorised. However unnecessary longterm use of laxatives can cause adverse effects and may cause habituation.
Intake of high fibres diet, rough foods like maize, non refined flour, exercise, intake of plenty of water, reduce tensuins are helpful to avoid constipation. Do these fisrt and if not improved then laxatives can be taken.

Drink prune juice for your constipation, and try drinking alot of water during the day. It sounds like your a bit dehydrated. Drink at least 2-3 litres a day.

then you need to eat vegetables and fruit, prune juice too. and cut crap (no pun intended) out of yuor diet, as poor eating is what gives you constipation. also long walks help shift poo.

sounds like u need more fibre in your diet and lots of water to drink too!! or do you want piles and kidney stones?
