May I also add she doesn't get scared easily and when I try and take her off table she grabs on to the mouse pad and table cloth. She doesn't give up easily. What a pest.

It is trying to get your attention, I put mine in a rocking chair with a blanket in it next to me so every once in a while I pet her. Usually she is content with this, sometimes not.

But I never thought of "hiding the mouse". That just might work too.

As I type this my cat is laying across my arm sleeping. You could try simply picking the cat up and putting it down or moving it away from the PC each time it comes near it. You could also try the squirt bottle with water trick that sometimes works. I found taking a can of compressed air and just lightly lightly squeezing the trigger is enough to chase the cat away. The cat doesn't get a blast of air its the sound that scares it away.

Well just a few suggestions.

This is such an issue with my cat too - after getting the water bottle to squirt her a few times, she has stopped doing it... now I don't even have to squirt her anymore - she sees me go for the bottle and walks away. Also, a coffee can with some nickels in it jingling around is a sound that makes cats run away.

My cat does this too! I found out that she hates the sound of an aerosol spray can so I keep a can of air freshener handy and when she jumps up I spray it away from her of course and she jumps down I think it sounds like a hiss to her. And a cat understands a hiss.

When you see her/him looking like they are headed for the keyboard, have some tape handy and lay it sticky side up on the keyboard. Once they walk on the tape and it sticks to their feet they should get the message that it ain't as much fun as they thought it was 'cause now they have to get the tape off of their feet. That way you are not in jepordy of getting water in/on your computer/keyboard and it is a safe and gentle way of changing the cat's way of thinking.

I think that any loud noise made at the time your cats climbs on the computer would scare him/her enough to jump down. Try something like canned air.

Squirts with water goes a long way with a cat. Just use plain tap water and everytime you see him jump up there, squirt him. Eventually he'll associate the water with the computer and stay away.

There is actually a program out there that makes cat-unfriendly noises if it senses random garbage coming from the keyboard. I played the sounds for my cats, and they DEFINITELY don't like them - especially the harmonica sounds.

You will probably have to shut the door. If i'm working on something my cat wants to get in on the project also. Good Luck.

my cat does this.
drives me crazy, and she knows it.
what i do is say no (then she lays down because she thinks she's the queen)
then i spray her, and she jumps down.
latley she's probably cut down from doing it 10 times a day, to 5. so we are making progress. xD
