WITHOUT THE USE OF YOUR BIBLES/HOLY BOOKS telling you how great and powerful God is, why do you worship God? You've never seen Him. He's never directly spoken with you. He doesn't directly help you. You don't directly know Him.

Why do you worship something that, no matter how much contemplating you do, you will never be able to understand. Is something so almighty and different from you actually worth worshiping?

He never takes the time to speak with you. He's like the father of a bastard child. Do you admit the possibility that anything that you think He's doing for you is just a matter of perception? People see things differently, so what makes you KNOW you're version is correct? It's because it FEELS right to you, right? Well, everyone gets the same feeling about their perception.

So, without God actually talking with you and answering your questions directly, is He even worthy of praise?

Answer as many of those as you have time for/care to address!

Thanks for your input,
Derek

To the example of feeling the wind: Physically feeling is not emotionally feeling. Physically feeling has an absolute truth, such as "it feels rough". Physical feeling is not open to interpretation.

You're right I have never seen God, but I have experienced the love that he has for humans, have you ever seen a thought?Yet, then, how do you know that they exist? Certainly God does deserve our praise for the things that he provides for us, every day, You too breathe the air he has provided for you to keep living, you eat the food he provides for your body to keep working you enjoy the sunshine that he provides for us all, wether, or not, we believe in him, to mention just a few,and even though some of us do not give him the credit that he should be acknowledged for,He loves you even though you and I do not deserve his love, yet he is ready to forgive us, and provide the things we need, even you yourself would like I'm sure to be acknowledged for anything good that you do. and yet our acomplishments are like nothing that God's acomplishes, yet they are very much doscounted by many people today, how would you feel if you did somethin for someone over and over again and they gave credit to someone or something else that had nothing to do with your works?Would you then feel that wasfair? No I doubt it!
I wish Peace for you! I hope you find happiness
the real kind! His love is also shown by His Word the Bible that he provided for our benefiting our own life and finding the real happiness that can be had only by learning and following his word he is the most worthy one of praise in all the universe. I know I am correct because he answered my Prayers many many times, and through his help I have lived through some terrible times, yet I am still hereyes there have been quite a few miracles in my life through the one and only true God Jehovah, without him I would be lost in darkness as is the whole world!

Its natural to worship God. Not everyone has the same expereicne as you (of him not existing or not caring).

Your heart seems very closed to Him, that's why you have no experience of his precense. If you wnated to know him and became a little humble, recognising you are not perfect and don't know everything, then you might find out why people worship Him.

God is indeed worthy or our praise, so many great qualites, in full. He is actually very attractive (bible doesnt tlka about what God is like so its limited in that way but other books do.) The info is not just in books. Books and teachers are a start but we can have our own real and personal relationship with God. its not hard. Its thru sincere prayer (form the heart/not just words) that this grows. Religion is not blind belief, not worshipping a mystery. Its a about relationship. So in that sense yes, everyone has their own perception and version but it will always be in harmony with teachings of great and real saints and teachers like Jesus and Mohammed and Caitanya Mahaprabhu (there are others).

Hearing and repeating His names (Allah, Jehovah, Krishna, Gauranga...all the same person) is the perfect way to worship God in this age and to make some real spiritual progress.

'Nitai Gauranga'.

if you want to know God you can. He knows your heart and will reveal Himself as He sees fit. You just need humility and sincerity. if you don't have these, recognise the fact and then they will have a chance to develop.

Actually, there are many of us who do believe we have actually had a personal experience of God. I know that is something the cynical will always dismiss as poor oxygen flow to the brain, or perhaps hallucinogenic mushrooms in that bowl of chili. But you need to understand that many of us are not dissuaded by that kind of cynicism, and do assign reality to what we believe we've perceived.

As to never being able to understand God, why would that stop us from worshipping him? One might as well tell cosmologists to stop mathematically modelling the scalar field that kicked off the Big Bang - they will never fully succeed either, because as they go back further in their model, some of the laws of physics that they need as a referent cease being a factor (they don't exist yet.)

But do they stop? No - because even if they cannot understand everything, in the attempt, perhaps at least they will understand _something_.

I worship God because I believe the Johannine exhortation that "God is love." And it is by loving God, that like Adam reaching for him on the ceiling of the Cistine chapel, I feel that I may almost touch him, and see his beautiful face.

Why should the almighty speak to you?
Does the pope speak to you? Or does the head of a religious group speak to common people?
We fear the almighty because the universe has been created and is being controlled by this almighty. Why has he created life - with happiness and sickness?
Only when we understand this can we go further...Our perceptions have limitations, like we cannot see beyond a distance, we cannot read other peoples thoughts...
Who asked you to praise God? Don't do that, man!!

That is were you are wrong he does talk to you
thought his Holy spirit, and thought his word
He is a friend who is always there no matter what,
even when you make the wrong choice he loves you no matter what
He is a King of all kings and should be praised and worship
When you have god in your life things do change and for the better
things happen you can not explain and they are always for the better
Jesus is pure love

One of the characteristics of the Holy Spirit is restrainer. The Holy spirit Holds back the evil that would exist without him. Can you imagine a Jeffrey Dahmer or Ted Bundy on every street corner and a hitler in every political office. I don't want to, but the Holy spirit will be pulled back in the last days and people will see what it would be like to live without God there every moment. He is definately worthy of Praise

God Bless

How do you know the atom? You never know it.
You only get some concepts about it through various prestigious scientists, who have brains and instruments to study it.
For God, it is the same. We learn about Him through the Holy Books of the most prestigious Educators Who are perfectly pure, kindly and wise. They are Divine Messengers sent by the One Ture God.
How could we not praise God when those great Educators spent most of Their time to praise Him? How could we mention His praise if we were not taught by their sublime words?

Actually he has spoken to me a few times.

I was a passenger in my car going down the interstate. My husband was driving bad and I complained a few times. Finally I asked "why is it that just because you are the man, you always drive us? Why don't you just pull over and let me drive."

He agreed and pulled off at an exit and we changed at the gas station. I had only been driving a few minutes when I got this voice in my head that said "pull over and let Charley drive." I excused it as my own weird thinking and kept going. I then heard it again "Pull over and let Charley DRIVE" .

By then, I knew God (or his angels) were telling me this. I became upset about it because I thought I was being taught a lesson of submission which I didn't want to learn. I argued with God in my head. A third time, I heard "PULL OVER AND LET CHARLEY DRIVE."

At that point, I asked my husband "where should I pull over because I don't know why, but God is telling me to let you drive?"

Charley said to just pull to the top of the ramp and we would switch out there. We did so and he pulled back onto the ramp. but no sooner than we got up to speed, we had to stop in the middle of the interstate. There had been a major collision. We sat for about 3 hours and watched news hellicopters, life line, and all kinds of emergency vehicles ahead of us by like a mile. When we finally got through we saw a 3 car collision had happened and they were mangled. There had been deaths.

I knew right away it hadn't been about submitting to my husband at all, but about God or his angels letting me know of the danger ahead. I ws sure glad that I had been prayed up and reading the bible or I may have missed his voice.

i think that you should praise god because he gave you eyes to see with and a heart to distinguish right from wrong in addition to all things in life. and who would you remember when you are in a big trouble and there is no one to help?there was a day that someone like you- who works a hairdresser- complained about god not helping people . there came a man and showed him another one with a long hair and bear and said to the hairdresser :" look there is no hairdresser in town" the man became frustrated and said :" there is me but his problem is that he doesnt come to me " so the man told him :" the same is with god , if you dont knock his door you will not find him ".
