Collaberate with your tattoist and design something together...he should have some good ideas of how it will work...Too many people get tatts with no thought in mind how they want them to look. Obviously u have had lots of exp...trust youself and your tattoist.... :)

Turning Tribal Tattoo Into Sleeve

Well im a female and I have half my sleeve finished and it consist of a grave yard with a grim reaper and a skull with bat wings. The rest is gonna be filled in with a creepy grave yard with zombies crawling out. Just because you are a girl doesn't mean you have to get girly things. I think I pull off my dark sleeve really well and I get compliments on it all the time. Just make sure you find someone good. I have seen a lot of girls do flowers with butterflies and girly stuff like that. That's usually what I see on girls that have full sleeves. The reason for my dark sleeve is first of all im a dark person and not really into all that girly **** and second its a memorial tattoo for my parents who died so that's why its so dark.

fill them in with backrounds. Like a field of stars against a dark sky would do it. Or clouds to fill the holes where no tattoos exist yet. Also you could theme it. Where there is emply space, put in a whole bunch of skulls. Then band the tops of each area. If you like tribal, that will work well. If not, decide if you want barbed wire, or stars, or arrows...something to finish the edges. But if you have bigger spaces, wait and get more ink first. Then finish it off with the detailing between it all.

the best thing to do would be to go to an artist that tattoos and hopefully they'd be able to design something that would go with your existing tattoo. if it is a specific style tattoo or specific theme, there may be artists that specialize in that kind of art. definitely do your research and look at a lot of portfolios. maybe check out some tattoo conventions to have a wide range of tattooers to chose from. good luck!!

I'm doing that with my leg. I get tats that symbolize some body or some thing and for family members they are on my right lower leg. Once I have them all completed the tattooist will be free hand drawing a Celtic vine to interlace them all together making my leg into one tat.

Find your artist by looking at the portfolio for the type of work you want done. Talk to them to make sure they are comfortable doing it. Every artist has their preference (like cartoons, Victorian, Japanese work, tribal) and they will collaborate with you to finish it up. It's about your body & it will be on you the rest of your life so you want to be happy with the artist. But of course you know this since you have some already.

Depends if the tattoos are colour, black-work, tribal, what? Your best bet is to commission a good tattooist in your area to design one, rather than finding something piecemeal on the net. If these are part cover-ups, it may be easiest and most aesthetically pleasing to do a tribal sleeve?

I guess you pick a common element or border and use it as a filigree to connect the areas.
