in an airtight container it can last weeks +, if wrapping in clingfilm it can last 2wks maybe longer, if not wrapping it at all you will have to cut of the hard bits before eating - i tend to go for the mould test personally - if its not going green the i eat it !!!

It will last for weeks if properly stored (in an airtight container). I believe that cheese is the only food that is safe to eat after it has started to go moldy - you just have to cut off the moldy part, and the rest is still edible. It has to do with the way the mold spores spread - if you have one piece of moldy bread in a loaf, you have to throw the whole thing out. Same with other foods.

It lasts atleast three weeks if wraped in a cling film or air tight containner, Once I stored it without the container and it dryed.

It depends if you like mould. Just cut mould off, then it should be fine. Thats what happens from storage to packaging anyway. No limit to time if you have a big enough lump of cheese - and a big enough fridge.

Jeannie got it right. It will almost last for ever, in or out of the fridge. Properly contained, so no mice, cockroaches or other alien got into it.

Even mouldy cheese is okay, blue cheese is mouldy.

Wrapped properly in cling film it will be 'closed' to the bugs, and when you want to use it, cut off what you want so that it can come back to room temperature then re-wrap the rest in NEW cling film. That way it should keep until you've used it all !
