In the short term they manage fairly well, then the separations, travelling and expenses become too much.
If it is a serious relationship or if it could become one I suggest one of you moving closer to the other.

hi there.. umm i'm in a long-distance relationship at he moment-only short termthough for 4 months, then he'll be back.but a good friend of mine has been with this gy for 4 years 3 of which they've spent in different countries. it doesn get expensive the whole travelling (flying really they live on other parts of the world), but she says its really worth it. i think the most important thing (as in any relationship) is trust! they trust each otehr to be faithful and ARE too!! they see each other a few times a year for a week or so but they call each other every other day to keep theri relationship moving!
so i guess i'm not really giving you any suggestions for success, except you have to know before you decide on staying on long-distance, hat you trust each other, otherwise there's just no point. just call once in a while using a alling card-MUCH cheaper and keep it up that way.
Good Luck to you and all the best ;-)

First it depends on how you two really for each other. My love and I do contact very often thru text messages everyday, twice a week phone call, skype on the week ends and we play games via internet. In fact I really don't beleive in a distance relationship though my bf often tells me to be confident and strong.
