The doctors will tell you to follow a low fat diet and increase you intake of things like oatmeal, or Cheerios. Exercise also helps. If you take the more medical way, the doctors can prescribe medications like zocor, lipitor of crestor to help bring down the cholesterol numbers. Hope this helps!!

Foremost thing is to be happy and tension free. If one is tension free then cholestrol level will not rise at all. Do Kapal Bhati Yoga daily.

Don't worry about foods high in cholesterol.
A lot of people don't seem to know this but the only thing that raises your cholesterol levels is saturated fats and trans-fats.
Look on the nutrition labels if you aren't sure which foods have high saturated fats.
Fiber and Exercise lowers your cholesterol also

the obvious answer is avoid fried stuff, avoid rich carbohydrates, avoid alcohol, avoid saturated fat from ur diet. do exercise of 30 min atleast 5 days in a week. get regular test done if you are above 45 years of ge.Increased cholesterol is the cause of cardio problems, prediabetes and the quality of life is rduced. Diet. Reduce your fat intake to 25% of your caloric intake. Avoid deep fat fried foods, like French fries, fried chicken. Avoid anything that has partially hydrogenated vegetable oil as an ingredient. Good luck.

Watching the type of fat you eat. eg Olive oil good, Butter bad. Fish good, red meat bad.
Also watch the total calories. Must eat what you need, no more but little less.

Avoid foods with cholesterol in them. Have a bowl of oatmeal everyday and take Omega3 and 6 and use smart balance spread instead of margarine or butter.
