No,most definately no,most crs operate on 12 volt dc and your home power is 110 or 240volt,if you do there will be a big flash and a bang and the stereo will explode causing heaps of damage and probably some to yourself.

if you know anyone that has an old model train set or a slot car set you can take the transformer from one of those and cut the plug off and use it to power the stereo. I have used this method many times for testing pesky electric components off of a car

I would not try using a home plug for anything to do with a 12 volt electrical system, chances are you will fry your stereo.Unless you are using a relay with a generator or transformer system I would stick to car battery. If the stereo is real old you wouldn't want to ruin it?Plug it in to your car stereo wires it will work without damaging your system.

Take it to an electrical accessory store (Radio Shack?) and see if you can find a transformer that converts AC power to 12 voltDC (assuming that is what your radio uses. Most auto systems work on 12 volt)

some sort of high amperage 12v power supply would work. or you could go the other way of getting your hands on a car battery and a car battery charger, which would also work. but you wouldnt be able to use it for extended period of time before having to charge the batt

oh, a car stere huh? I had one of those. all you have to do is stick the longest wires from your radio harness into any household outlet. It's so simple!
