The "I" may actually refer to the "Christhood" that we all have to achieve before realizing God. The same "I" may also be the same thing as "Krishna-hood" in Hindu and "Buddhahood" in Buddhism. So the one Jesus talked about may actually be the state of enlightenment, not Jesus himself.
But I am sure some people prefer to insist that it's Jesus that's the only way, either because they want to have control over others or they are foolish themselves.

Dear Tony,
Have you read the Bible? Old Testament or New Testament?
The book of Genesis shows us the creation and God saw that it was good. He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and gave them only 1 command. They disobeyed that command and were expelled from Paradise.
Then 1 of their sons murdered their other son in a fit of jealousy. The Old Testament tells the story of man's sinfulness and God's plan to restore mankind to a right relationship with Him. We cannot save ourselves, no matter how hard we try no matter how good we are.
Jesus Christ is the One who is speaking about Himself when He said I am the light, the way and the truth ... He spoke the Truth 2000 years ago and the Truth has not changed. He is the only Way to the Father.
But God does not want anyone to be lost eternally. Nobody will be without excuse, so in one way or another people will have the opportunity to hear of Jesus and accept Him or reject Him.
Please read the Bible - for me it was and continues to be the best thing I've ever done! Listen to what those Christian preachers are saying because your eternal life rests upon it.

It means nothing you do here on earth matters. No amount of good works or sacrifice get's you to heaven only Jesus (pbuh) can get you to heaven. he is the bridge that connects you to heaven. You cannot make your own. All you have to do is confess his name as your personal savior and BELIEVE he did it. and have faith that's it. all this talk about sinning and and stuff doesn't matter. He already died for your sins past present and future. The wager for sin is death, he has forgiven us but we will still die becuase we continue to sin. For it is in our nature. If you havea a bible on you read epheasians 2:8-9 and that verse you read plus Johny 3:16 it'll tell you what our faith is based on
Epheasians 2:8-9 God saved you by his grace when you believed. and you can't take credit for this it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for teh goood things we have done, so no man can boast.
John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son that everyone who bleieve in him will not perish but have eternal life. (new living testament)

Jesus is the ONLY name given to ALL mankind by which they can be saved. ALL other religions are FALSE to the ONLY living God; the God who created this earth and ALL things in it. Unless a person accepts Jesus as their savior and confesses this they are damned to Hell for eternity when they die. There is one faith, one God and one baptism and they are all found in the scriptures of the Holy Bible. Because every religion outside of Christianity is a false relgion and the only way to Heaven and eternal life is thru Jesus Christ. Christianity does not teach killing but peace and love unlike Islam. Whether you disbelieve these words doesn't matter as they are true all the same. Every knee will bend and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord when He returns. He is coming soon so please accept and embrace Him before it's too late. There is no allah or is there 20+ virgins waiting for anyone after they kill themselves for false glory. WAKE UP!!! Why don't the leaders of Islam martyr themselves instead of sending brainwashed young people? Doesn't this make you think? God is fair and He offers salvation freely but people love themselves and their own ideas more than they love God.

This is probably one of the most misunderstood quotes from the Bible. It was a message that Jesus gave to *his followers* in THAT time. It was meant for *his* followers. He was relaying a message from the Divine for the people then and there. He never said anything about Hell or that other religions were not recognized. There have been others since Jesus who have come with the same message that Jesus brought. There is but one way to get to the kingdom of Heaven but everyone will have their chance and no one is going to Hell.

...There is no verse that says this. Perhaps you mean this verse:
...John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, but through Me."
...This one is not hard to understand. Jesus here is saying He is THE way to God and the only way to God. Also, He has, knows, and is the truth (John 8:31 says, "you shall know the truth, and truth shall set you free")
...Here is something else I found: He Himself is the way, and in addition He is the lodging on the way and its destination".
...The second half of the verse clearly speaks of Jesus as the only way to the Father.
...Those who reject Jesus Christ will go to hell, so we need to get the Gospel out, so others can miss out on Hell.
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

Dear Tony,
i believe you are referring to John 14:6: Where Jesus says that he is the way, truth, and life and no one comes to the Father except through Him.
In short Jesus is saying that the only way to have a relationship with God is through the work that Jesus Christ did on the Cross. While there are people who are for the most part good- no one will make it to Heaven based on their own righteousness and good works. So it is faith in Christ and His work on the cross that gets one to Heaven.
Jesus is saying there is no other way. That may not be popular but remember it is God who makes the rules and not us. There are religions that sound good in terms of "all roads lead to God, etc." but Jesus taught what he taught and we must either accept that or reject that.
Feel free to email me with any questions or thoughts you might have.
Hope that helps.
Kindly,
Nickster

I think we should understand the verses in the SPIRIT way
The Holly Spirit is communicate to the world through the tongue of Jesus saying that all spirit in the world could only enter the Kingdom of God once they become HOLLY. Therefore the ONLY Spirit who could lead other Spirit through the process is the Holly Spirit.

It's a quote from Jesus. You have to remember the context. Jesus was preaching at a time and place when people were told that salvation could only be attained by following the letter of the law which had been written down by hebrew scholars centuries before. I would like to think that Jesus was saying that enlightenment can be attained if one follows the example of Jesus. I really doubt that if Jesus were to come face to face with Siddartha that they would have much disagreement.

well the quote is slightly wrong. However if you need to know this you need to do a Bible study on separation and what it means, You are just as capable of getting the truth from the Bible as anyone Else.

well were do we start. This is said by Jesus, and in saying that I am the way the truth and the light", he is saying exactly what he is written. He is the way to heaven. He is the Truth, ie he stands for truth and he is the real saviour mesiah etc not a fraud. And he is the Light, a light gives a path and guidance to those in the dark. It can show the way to one's destination.
