Depends on how cheaply I am going:

--on the cheap side, simply catsup and mayonnaise will do nicely--I know, it sounds evil to some of the chicago-style purists, but it isn't half bad really....

--on the more expensive side....tomato wedges, bread & butter stackers (sweet pickles sliced lengthwise), a slice or two of cheddar cheese and either some barbecue sauce *or* some sweet honey mustard....assuming we are talking about a proper all-beef frank here.

And of course, on the expensive side, the bun should be at least steamed if not a properly toasted and buttered roll.

But then again, it *is* a hot dog after all.... :) No need to get that obsessive about it.

I like a good chili dog. Sonic Drive In has the best!! If I can't get that then onions and ketchup will do it for me.

I'm from Chicago so you know how we do dogs in the Chi! Mustard, Relish, Tomatoes, Onions, Sliced Pickles, Peppers! Nothing like a Chicago-style hot dog! Now i got to have me one!
