HIV = Human Immunodeficiency Virus
Please note the human part, this virus is specific to humans.
There are other viruses that are similar and they are specific to their animal group.
There are viruses that have crossed over from animal to human,such as Avian Flu (Bird Flu) and an immuno virus found in some types of monkeys that caused HIV by some explanations, but so far no human to animal.

That's what scientists do to study the HIV virus by injecting it in lab mice and monkeys and find a cure!

I read an article on doctors testing oral transmission of the HIV virus and they were using monkeys, so i suppose thats a yes.

yupz we got it from the good ol' monkeys looooooooooong ago during a hunting accident.
as long as there's blood/bodily fluids(saliva's not included, i think) transfer, HIV can be transmitted. btw humans.
