Thanks for the reminder. I have been pondering this myself. No I would not like to be a Pharisee. I experienced the opportunity for the Lord to test me in this area, i pray I passed. Thanks again for the question. God Bless you!

Always good to hear that someone reads between the lines.
Christ was indeed a rebel of note. He chased pharisees out of the synagogue. He stood up against the Jewish state (nothing against the Jews, it is just that the people who ran the country in those days abused God's will for their own gain).
I find it difficult not to judge the modern day pharisees which you are referring to. I am not a christian, but I grew up with the religion, and I admire Christ. My mantra comes from the bible: "forgive them father, because they (no, actually we) do not know what they are doing".
How not to fall into the trap of becoming a pharisee...just try to respect others, and to understand where they are coming from. Pharisees are often good people, who are **** scared of burning in hell...or at least, that is my view. So treat them with love, and whatever you do, refrain from discussing religion with them...It is pointless. Each to themselves.

Nope, I am not. But I have been judged by some of those. And it hurt. I know that we are not to judge others. I saw it in a play once done by Dean Jones. It was called St. John in exile. He said a line that said this..."We were not to judge people." Then he yelled it with everything in him...."WE WERE NOT TO JUDGE PEOPLE!!!!!!" And that sounds off in my brain over and over. It is not my place to judge, it is God's, because only He is merciful, just and true.
God Bless!!!

I hope I'm not...but I'm only human. I find that I still have to pray for forgiveness almost every day...mostly for my attitude.
I want to be a good example, and with God's help I try to be, but I still fail sometimes.
Thank you for the reminder that we all need to strive towards perfection, even if we may never attain it.

Dear David,
My thought is that we can do nothing from the Lord apart from His power. The Lord's love and unconditional acceptance of us is powerful.
To share his love- i have to remember that i am loved though i don't deserve to be. It has truly been by grace that i'm saved (a gift of God) not of myself so that no one can boast.
We are told to be wise, discernful, to speak the truth in love, and to share Christ with others. i think how we do it- is as important as that we do it...
Thanks for asking...
Kindly,
Nickster

No, I admit to my fallacies. I sin every day. I think to act like a pharisee means to deem yourself perfect, and perfect I am not
