In 1928, Scottish scientist Alexander Fleming.

He was trying to grow bacteria, bu tHe found that in the vessel that had penicilin, all the bacteria are dead, he tested it several times and finally he found the anti-bacterial power in penicillin. [Most probably he recvd Noble prize for this]

Since then, the mankind is endowed with yet another strong weapon to fight bacteria.

Penicillin was first discovered by Ernest Duchesne in the old days but was actually re-discovered by Sir Alexander Fleming in 1896
