Jesus came to earth to do many things.. he came so he could show us the way to live..to live as we live so he could know how we feel...to Identify with us... To beat satan at his on game...someone has to pay for all the wrong things we do..so GOD having mercy on us sent his son to take that punishment for us. That's why to be saved all you have to do is accept his free gift of salvation...You are right, God is greater, but we (Humans) sadly are not...to learn more you can read the bible..starting with the book of John and the book of Romans...I promise It will be an eyeopening experience you will never forget.

That's not a simple question to answer. Basicaly speaking Jesus had to bear the 'punishment' for the sins of all mankind. And womankind too, of course. Anyhows so that was the need. Like no human could have been pure enough to do the job.- cos 'all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God' etc.

Jesus had to be teh human form of God since God could not manifest Himself in the flesh. He had to actually send someone-Jesus to be the example and the atonement for all. In other words, the one standing in for the sin of mankind. Sure, God is greater. Jesus had a mission that He accomplished...to die for the sins of man. then return to get the keys from hell and then the choice is now yours as to what you want to do or believe...

If you are going to ask questions try to know your subject matter!
The answer to your question can be found in the Bible! Read it then come back and ask your question.
If you have no interest in education your self about the subject, then shut up, go away, and play with the other four year olds in the sand box, If they will let you!

So this Jesus dude apparently absolved everyone's sins by allowing us to kill him. People think they can avoid hell just by believing that this guy existed and/or still exists in some form.
He is basically history's biggest scapegoat.

An even better question would be, why would God even allow a slandering unbeliever such as yourself even be born? Why not just let you be one of those millions of unborn babies that are killed every year......
