My advice is to just ask her about books. Women like it when men ask them questions. They also like guys who aren't always talking about themselves.

But if you need to bone up on the literary stuff without actually reading, you should know that there are tons of movies that have come out that are based on books. I read a ton so I know a lot of them. I assume that you don't have anything against movies.

Current authors:
James Patterson, writes the Alex Cross novels. Movies = Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider. They are all about serial killers and pretty similar to the books except Cross is supposed to be a Denzel type not a Morgan Freeman type.

Dan Brown, wrote The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons
Movies= The Da Vinci code just came out on dvd and is almost entirely true to the book. Angels and Demons in my opinion was a better book but I haven't read it in like 5 years. That one was first in the series and will be coming out in theatres soon.

Jk Rowling, writes the Harry Potter series. I liked them, she has a different way of writing that I like. She is currently writing the 7th and final book in the series. The 5th movie comes out next halloween.

Robert Ludlum, old school spy novel writer. Wrote Bourne Identily and Bourne Supremecy but both movies are entirely different than the books. The books are great by the way. The Bourne Ultimatum should come out next year.

John Finder, High Crimes

William Shakespear, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, Much Ado About Nothing and tons more. He's old school and so many movies are made with his stories in mind. O = Othello in today's society.

Another classic, The Count of Monte Cristo

It all depends on what she's into. I mean if she's into Bronte you could watch Pride and Prejudice. (I think it was one of the Brontes)

I could go on and on but I won't. lol

The scarlet letter by Nathaniel Hawthorn.

Woman has an affair with adult man. Woman is forced to wear a red "A" on her persons. Nothing at all happens to the man and he is free to tryst around town without penalty. Book details encounters of the woman who's basically outcasted by society and made to suffer for what they both did wrong. It also details her observations of human nature and what she learns about people, therefore helping to shape how she feels about life and herself in the end. You should read it. It's not that long and really good, actually kinda scandelous. Good luck with that!

Well, I can see you're trying to impress her. The thing is, you don't want her to think that you're into books too like her. But if you're really into impressing her, then I guess start with the classics. Shakespear, and the likes. And tell her the truth. You really don't want to get the wrong idea that might freak her out in the end. Tell her that you got curious about books since she's so into it. You thought you might check it out too. Goodluck!

Just find something that you both have in common to talk about. Don't try and be someone you are not. If books come up just tell her you're not much into reading and ask what else she is interested in.

Look at what she reads and try to get interested in the same kind of book. I like political non-fiction, but if you weren't interested in reading those kinds of books, just follow the news, and maybe I'd find you acceptable.

Whatever you do, BE HONEST! Its good you want to talk to her about books even when you hate them. Roald Dahl Books are really good. They might look kiddish but the story and imagination of Roald is amazing. Try to find out books written by him. J.K Rowling Books - HARRY POTTER. She will love it. Harry Potter is everyone's favorite. I only watch his movies. Even I hate to read loooooooong books. If you watch the movies, you can talk to her about your likes and dislikes about the movie and on and on and on. You get me right?
Good Luck!
