Don't you find it more interesting that they murdered the son of their own God? Or stood by and did nothing while he was crucified. What does that tell you about them?

Our God told His son Jesus to die for our sins on the cross. He loves us so much he gave his only begotten Son. Imagine. Giving ur ONLY Son for people who consider you to be nothing more than pixie dust. How great is He! Can you give up your son for people who don't do as you say? Anyway he came back from the dead. Thus the mystery of our faith. He shed his blood for our sinful ways. Even though he died on the cross he came back 3 days later to tell about it for fourty days. God gave his Son it was planned and ordained. It wasn't a mistake and God wasn't watching. Even after the death of his Son he tore the curtains down in the Holy church so that everyman may sit with God not just the holy.

Please read a little before making asinine statements. Even if you don't like what you read, at least don't make yourself sound dumb. no offence

Don't get angry at someone else for pointing out that you should get your facts straight before asking questions meant to attack another person's faith and beliefs. That only shows how WEAK you are. Also, please try to use complete, correct words when you are trying to make yourself seem to be the smarter/better one. It tends to work out better.

In regards to your question, Jesus died for our sins by His own choice. Yes, it was painful; yes, He could have run away and prevented the whole fiasco, but He knew what He had to do in order to save us from our sins. Three days after He sacrificed Himself and forgave His aggressors, Jesus ascended to Heaven and was seated at God's right hand.

I think that probably qualifies as mercy.

He did protect him read of the attempts on Christ's life throughout the early years of his ministry.
He allowed his son to sacrifice himself for untold billions of God's children so they would not suffer the penalty of sin--death.
God the creator and sustainer of the universe and all that is in it is hardly weak.
Forgiving us our sins and granting us eternal life to rule and rein as the sons of God is hardly merciless.

You know, when God created the earth and man, Jesus was right there with Him, because they are one. In Genesis it says"Let US make man in OUR image". Jesus wasn't a helpless victim. When they came to get Him, He said "whom do you seek?" and when they answered"Jesus of Nazareth!" He said, "I am He" and when He said that, everyone was slammed to the ground. He did that to show them that He had all power over them, that no one TOOK His life, He GAVE it. God found no other cover for our sins, so He took care of it Himself. You don't understand His purpose. He came in the flesh, to die. Period. You can't think of Him as you would your own child. We are so far below His thinking. We think small. He thinks eternal.
I hope you can understand His eternal love for you and put your anger and confusion away. God loves you!

Sacrificed His son for you and everyone.
A God that loves you enough to sacrifice his son shows love, not weakness and mercilessness.
