I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.
GNC makes a tablet called "Ultra Nourishair" in formulas for men and women, the pills are taken daily, 2 pills a day. They are HUGE and very hard to swallow, if you have any trouble at all with large tablets, then I wouldn't recommend these. The 2 pills also contain only 1200 micrograms total of Biotin, which is the main supplement needed for hair to grow faster and stronger. You should try to get a minimum of 2500 micrograms of Biotin daily to improve hair's rate of growth and its condition. Even though I took these GNC pills for 4 months, I wouldn't recommend them because they are not the most high quality pills available.
ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called "Hair Skin and Nails" formula, here is the link for that
http://www.procapslabs.com/pcl/pages/pro...
This is in capsule form and much easier to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.
I took GNC's Nourishair for four months, and supplemented it with extra Biotin tablets daily due to its low Biotin content. I took 2500 micrograms extra Biotin with the GNC pills.
The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.
My hair is growing in thick and dark and quite quickly. My hair used to be very slow growing, but all of these supplements have really made a difference.
The only way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made, any shampoos or oils or other topically applied things do nothing to change hair's structure, that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth

For a perfect Hair Care System includes hair brushing, massaging, shampooing, rinsing, conditioning and drying
hair brushing.
How do you keep the natural look of your hair? Do you brush before a bath? It is good. Also don’t forget to brush before every shampooing before a bath. It is essential and is the first step to a hair care routine. Use a clean, soft and dry brush. NEVER BRUSH HAIR WHEN WET
head massaging.
If someonemassages your head then you know how soothing it is? You can do it by yourself. Massage the scalp with finger tips gently. This help to loosen more dead particles. It also helps to improve blood circulation. Start massaging from the back of the head with finger rotating slowly and gently. Work the finger in circular movements. This gives relaxation to the muscles there.
shampooing.
Careless shampooing can be harmful for your hair either wrongly used or wrong shampoo used. Wet the hair thoroughly with warm water. Use a little of shampoo, mix with equal quantity of water and rub into hair till getting a thick froth.
rinsing.
Rinsing neatly after shampooing is very needful. Do it 3 to 4 times. The last rinse better with cold water. Add a little vinegar/lemon also make everything better.
conditioning.
Regular conditioning is good and essential and it gives extra care for your hair a long extend. The purpose of conditioning is to restore the natural condition of hair. It helps hair to manage breakage and to reduce split ends. For a rough type of hair a homely method is there -adding a little lemon is good.
drying.
Finally you have to dry your hair. Treat it with great value. Use dry and soft towel. Do not rub, just blot and dry.
GOOD LUCK.

Brushing stimulates blood circulation. This guarantees that each root gets plenty of oxygen which leads to better hair growth.
Brushing also removes the loose scales accumulated on the scalp and distributes the sebum evenly through the hair, giving it the shine of good health!
Oil massage will also help

Hot oil massages: Warm 2 tsp. of olive oil and 2 tsp. coconut oil and gently massage every part of the scalp for 10-15 minutes. Rinse a towel in hot water, wipe and wind the hair around the head as it cools. Repeat 2 or 3 times to issue total saturation. After that, shampoo and rinse well. It is good for brittle dry hair.
Hot Caster oil massage: Warm ½ cup of castor oil, massage into scalp and gently comb it. Bind the hair with hot towel on the head, wait for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. As it is home made is so good to use for scanty hair.
Clove oil honey massage. Stir well ½ cup of green olive oil with 1 cup of liquid honey. Shake vigorously. Keep the mixture to settle for a day or two. Massage into the scalp and comb it not touching the scalp. After massaging cover hair with plastic shower cap. Make it air tight to let the heat penetrate, leave like that for 20 to 30 minutes. Thin, limp, hair does not have a tendency to fall flat and dead. What you need is a volume booster. For starters choose your shampoo carefully. Ordinary shampoos donut do much for your kind of hair. Look up a shampoo especially for limp hair
Secondly, donut comb your hair when wet, Let it dry naturally and finger comb it. A hair dryer can boost your hair for a while but on a regular basis can prove harmful for your hair. Then, brush your brush straight from your scalp and shake it free.

Forget hair revitalizing shampoos, great nutrition is the most effective way of getting awesome hair!
Shiny, healthy hair is a reflection of a healthy body, so it's like two for the price of one. Just like your body, your hair needs a balanced, nutritious diet to stay healthy. So follow this recipe for healthier hair, and be amazed at the difference it makes!
Water
Water makes up one-fourth of the weight of a strand of hair. Moisture makes the hair supple, so make sure you get plenty of fluids. A key point is NOT to wait until you're thirsty. If you're thirsty, it means your body has already lost more water than it should have, and it's urging you to fill up the tank. Water not only hydrates your body, but helps keep your hair silky and shiny. Ideally, you should drink between eight and ten glasses of water a day.
Protein
Protein is the building block of hair, so a diet for healthy hair contains an awful lot of protein! Protein will give the shaft of your hair more strength, and will reduce the likelihood of dame through snapping and splitting. You can get protein from foods like fish, meat, milk, cheese and cereals.
Minerals
Iron helps to carry oxygen to the hair. Without enough iron, hair and its follicles get starved of oxygen. This means that the ‘goodness’ in the root of your hair is much less effective along the length of the strand. You can increase your iron intake by eating red meat and dark green vegetables, or by iron supplements.
Zinc builds hair protein which helps to prevent hair loss. Meat and seafood are the foods highest in zinc.
Copper is involved in the pigmentation of hair. You can optimize your natural color with a diet with plenty of copper. Who needs hair dye and fake color! Shellfish, liver, fresh vegetables, nuts, seeds and meat are all high in copper.
Vitamins
Vitamin A will give you a healthy scalp, because it’s great for the skin! You can get vitamin A from foods like vegetables - in particular, in carrots. (So it’s good for the waistline too!)
Vitamin B and C are important for good circulation, hair growth and hair color. If you ensure that you have enough vitamin B and C, you’ll have strong, supple strands of hair that do not split. You can get these vitamins from eating foods like fruit, vegetables, cereals, eggs, milk and bread.
So follow this healthy guide… be sure to add in a hefty dose of daily exercise to keep that blood pumping… then add proper hair care on the surface! Go ahead! Try it!
Soon enough you'll be turning down offers to do shampoo commercials!

to maintain my hair reliable and thick I take supplementations I have been given at walmart exceedingly for hair and nails (that's what the bottle says). I additionally use injury fix shampoo and conditioner, with the aid of fact it makes your hair greater desirable whether you do not have injury subject concerns. in case you may no longer get your hair thicker with supplementations and shampoos nonetheless, attempt reducing it slightly, with the aid of fact my chum's hair constantly gets thicker while that's shorter, plus in case you shrink it, it is going to help with the chop up ends, and your hair will seem greater healthful. additionally do attempt layers. Layers constantly help, yet ensure you have stable maintenance of them or all of them advance out and seem sort of loopy.
