If in doubt, throw it out. If it smells even a little, get rid of it.

In the future, use it up right away, freeze it (with a microwave, it only takes a few minutes to get it unfrozen) or marinate it with a preservative marinade. I like to put the cut-up chicken in a plastic bag with a big splash of sake (rice wine), some ginger and some salt. This will keep three or four days in the fridge, and just get more delicious. Don't keep it more than a week, though!

Also, cooking the chicken right away is a great option. It will keep longer in the fridge, and you can also freeze the parts you won't use right away. Having frozen cooked chicken on hand makes it easier to throw together meals, too.

Better luck next time!

Refrigerating meat slows the growth of bacteria, but does not stop it as freezing does. For this reason, refrigerated meat is safe to eat for a significantly shorter amount of time.

So it is better not to keep any sort of raw meat for more than three days.

I usually do not keep it more than 3 days. you should be really safe if you make sure it is not frozen when you cook it. I have taken chances and cooked after 4 days and I am still breathing.

Chiller - just 2 days.
Freezer - 6 to 12 months.

Better not to use it today.

i do no longer see why no longer. i think of you're meant to permit issues cool earlier putting them in the refrigerator/freezer. upload a sprinkle of water to top off moisture once you thaw it.

If you look at the packing sticker, there may be "use by" date. It probably is okay, but when you open the package, if there is any odor, I would not use it.
