I've been to Italy...they pretty well drive where ever the hell they want! LOL

Most roads are very narrow, and often cars have to move off to the shoulder to let another vehicle by. That is why they drive a lot of small FIATS!! Don't know if they still drive those but I imagine they do. I remember roads that were so treacherous...don't expect to see any guard rails as your vehicle climbs grindly up those mountains and narrow roads. They drive on the right, but usually there is no right...it's just the MIDDLE. And they drive like maniacs...don't fight with Italian cops...payoffs are what they like best.
