If a guy you dont really know but have made an effort to chat up tries to get your attention sometimes by calling out "hey" when you walk by, even if you obviously didnt see him, does that mean he is attracted to you? Cuz I try to say hi and smile when I see him and I'm pretty sure he knows I like him.

He's being the "boy" and of course you're the "girl". Ever hear of boys pulling the pigtails of girls and smiling? They boys aren't trying to hurt the girls, they're trying in their awkward way to let that girl know that he's interested with out saying as much.
Boys are shy too (maybe more shy than girls)...but they also want to feel that they are in control of the situation which they are not....takes two.
You know one thing and I'm pretty sure he knows it too. You like him and I'm pretty sure he likes you too! HEY!

Yes, I'm pretty sure he's into you. And you're doing a great job. :) It's just a matter of time before he walks up to you and finally ask you out. But of course, he's got to introduce himself to you first and then get all friendly. Then if the timing's right, then uhmm.. I guess it's right? hm.

i wouldn't jump to any conclusions unless he's saying more than just "hey" to you, it might mean he just wants to be your friend, unless he asks u to hang out or for ur number or something more obvious, then don't get ur hopes up
