It's a threat aimed at peoples fears. I have no sense of fear for the afterlife. I openly express my contempt for god.

yes. Everything we do is free will..God cannot make us do anything just like you can't make your kids do anything. YOu just hope they do the right thing. You make a choice everyday about everything. Clothes you wear, food you eat, whether to go to work/school, what to say, etc. So, yes it is free will...not a threat. You will burn forever in Hell without a way of Escape but if you do that's because you made that choice and not the choice to accept God.

A christian's intentions arent to frighten others, it's to inform them of a very real event that will take place. It is very much a choice. Infact God loved us so much he did not make us like robots and gave us our own decision. Although just because he gave us a choice does not mean we get to say wether it is a fact or not. The truth lies within God's word, although regardless, people will have their opinions. I can tell you as a christian I have felt the VERY real love of God that compares to no other. I have felt the sorrow of sin, the growth of forming a relationship with him. The adventure, the clarity, the realness..so many different emotions, and physical changes. Miracles. I want nothing more than to see other people enjoy this beautiful gift. There are things to sacrifice, there are things he will ASK us to lose in order to grow in Him so that he may perform these miracles. As a follower we will be asked to, but maybe you can try and think of it this way, if you might believe sir, in the Lord's word, or maybe you dont, either way really, you might see it as good was first. Temptations are the rude intrution of the devil, and I have felt it many times in my life, and I noticed and felt it much more when I began to indulge in Christ's word. It's all very real, the changes dont just happen inside you.
There are 2 sides. Naturally I noticed most people, and myself as well before being a christian, that I thought about if death came tommorow, rather than repentance, I was picturing all the things I would do before I die..but what about when I die? We usually see it as so uninportant at the time. I used to figure..hey..it's not for a while, I think I`ll just be a devoted christian when life slows down and I get towards the end of it. But God watches us every second, and he knows our intentions even before we know them quite yet.
I wont continue blabbering about my life, you asked 2 questions, and I hope I was some help to you!
Maybe you have heard this before, but Jesus loves you as equally as one who was serving Him all their life. No matter how much we sin, but he also is not willing that any should perish, and so we do not, he asks that we love him in return and have a relationship with Him. That is why I am sure that I will become married to that perfect person one day, or get that dream job..etc. He assures me, and never once has he let me down! Some people wonder if it's all in our heads, but although there is much logic, God teaches us to see with our hearts. =)

Why are there only two choices?
I like to debate. As a Deist I strongly believe in equality for all.
We can use our free will however we wish to in any moment.
Many paths....one Higher Power.
It falls within the realm of Free will if everyone has free will to respond with free will.

it's an offer my friend. of course it is a choice, which does fall in the realm of free will. it has to, we must choose to accept the gift. hopefully whoever talked to you about that made known to you that it was a choice and offered the choice to you, and hopefully you take him up on the choice. it's a pretty harsh way to put it though.

It is a matter of choice since God gave us free will and clearly (through the Ten Commandments) gave us the guidelines for living as He wants us to. However, for me the commandments are very practical for God knew that as humans we would be tempted to do many (if not all) of them. Obeying the commandments is necessary for society to live in harmony. Living in harmony is rarely done, but thankfully God gives us many chances to live as we should. He loves us despite all the wars and ugly ways we have of ruining our and others lives. It is probably wishful thinking, but I don't believe in Hell. There is usually plenty of that here on earth.

He gives you two choices...One is to believe and when you are a believer the road ends in Heaven and eternal life... Two is Unbelief which leads to Hell... So you have an option to choose your path. Simple, go right or left.
It definantly isnt a threat, when you commit a crime you know and understand where that road will lead to... prison. so when you choose to believe you choose life, Unbelief, death.

You already know the answer, just expecting how others will turn out.
Yes, to force people to believe in something with the threat to be burned in hell is nothing about freewill. It's no use to help others realize such mistake if they don't choose to be realized.

Now lets see,,,, there are 2 options,,,, sounds like a choice.
You are free to choose, accept the sacrifice of Jesus or reject him. If you reject Him on earth God will not force you to live with Him forever.

You are free to choose to believe it or not. Once you die however, then it's not a threat, it's reality.
Everyone is bound for hell because of sin. Hell is not a punishment for those who reject Christ. It is a punishment for those who have sinned. Christ offers a way out of that punishment, not an ultimatum.
