I used to work in a catholic organisation that really sucks.
The boss is a mid age woman who is not charming or capable of handling anything at work. She got there because of her religion background.
The other thing is there was a opus dei member who used to work in that school and later on promoted to a well-known school. She always uses her connection there to promote opus dei. She used to be my teacher so she wanted me to join as a numerary too. But I was so unhappy in opus dei because I used to be sexually abused by a member of her group.

I think my teacher knows about it very well, but she did not do anything to help me out of my emotional turmoil. Instead, she uses all she can to protect the "good name" of opus dei, and drew me closer to the work (ie. to be a member).
Opus dei was just so powerful that they can do all these things secretly and effectively.I felt so disgusting at they nasty defamation and wrong allegation. They ruined my career. They even use sex to tempt.

me. They asked one of the choir member ( a man) at church to befriend with me. That to me, was really a kind of sex harassment. I felt so disgusting because if I did not comply to what he wanted me to do, I would get expelled from work and the church. That relationship turned to be very fatal and later on I found out that he was married three days ago before the day he started tempted me. Three years after that, I was pushed to leave my work, bore the bad name of adultery and left the church in disgrace. I was hospotalised for schizophrena and I was out of the workforce for about one year. I cannot help myself but to have nightmares every night, dreaming of being burned to death...I felt so awful. I had the side effect of taking a psychiatric drug that my weight has increased for about 40 kilos because I got ill. I hated the church so much that I did not go to any churches at all. I don't go to the places where opus dei members go. Do you think I can get some kind of legal action?

I really do think some of the answers given are quite suprtficial. Especially the one given by epostle11. How can you know that a cult with a website is not a cult. I would suggest epostle11 to join opus dei and experience their "power", Perhaps by then epostle11 will have an urgent need to see a doctor.
epostle11, are you a pro-opus dei?

These folks might be able to help you know that you are not alone...

Here's a quote from their website:
"A new collaboration of three separate groups who have experienced
firsthand the deceptive, manipulative and cult-like practices of Opus Dei
has been formed in response to Opus Dei's recent depiction of itself to the
media and the general public. "

I feel very sad when I hear of the scandal in my Catholic Church. If you can substantiate your allegations, you should contact the district attorney.Contact the bishop of your diocese and get a mental health professional to help you.No matter what institution, some will betray the good name and reputation of that institution.Recall Our Lord's words "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin,it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea"(Mt18,6).and that both wheat and tares would exist in His Church and to love and forgive our transgressors.I know that you are going through a time of great anguish and will keep you in my prayers.Pax et bonum.
