There is one important thing that is essential for you to know about Mormonism: the difference between the Mormon's Jesus and the Jesus of Christianity.
Mormons believe that Jesus opened the door for us to be saved. However, in order to be saved, you have to live a worthy life--and walk through the door yourself. Therefore, Mormons believe you are saved by works--and after you do everything in your power to be righteous, that's when Jesus' grace kicks in.
Christians believe that there is nothing we can do to save ourselves. It's through our faith in Jesus that we're saved. As Romans 3:20-end says, we're saved by grace alone, but our faith in Jesus convicts us to follow the law.
This may seem like a small difference between Mormons and Christians, but it's HUGE!! Therefore, even though Mormons call themselves Christian (and say they have to be since their church has His name in it and since they have the BOM.."another testament of Christ"...then they have to be Christian).
HOWEVER, when you get to the HEART of who Jesus Christ is, the Jesus of the Mormon faith is NOT the same Jesus Christ of the Christian faith-- The theology between Mormonism and Christianity differs with: who Jesus is, where He came from, His grace, and His relationship with God (trinity vs. godhead).
So, to answer your question-- Mormons are great people with strong values. They just don't realize that they believe in a different Jesus than we do.

sure you've a Jesus Christ, not the Jesus of the Bible. you do not have self assurance the Bible to be authentic note of God as a results of the indisputable fact that's on your conception corrupted in translation. You carry a Bible yet use your different books as your gospel. it is the Bible that proves your further books to be authentic or not, not any opposite direction round. Your god will be unable to make up his concepts what to call your crew (after 4 or so trys comes up inclusive of your call now), the God of the Bible has no difficulty, we are his children and the followers of Jesus are Christians. How boastful to assert God can't guard his note to his human beings. I follow the KJBible (you realize the single you carry round), because i understand the position each and each and every of the failings are and not one of the failings it is been documented/ shown, replace some thing, they are so minor and the message is an same. you may take any e book(s) out of the bible and the message of salvation continues to be there. Your INTERPRETATION through your organization is a thanks to regulate and confuse (hmmm feels like the mission of someone from the bible) devil isn't Jesus brother. we are able to heaven to be with the daddy, not develop into gods and %. a planet to populate the position the spouse is forever pregers. fairly a guy's dream to be forever s****ing. LDS is replacing and turning out to be extra "Christian". even as they wrestle to conceal most of the previous files they now not have self assurance that stuff... I provide you with adult males yet another one hundred years.. or a lot less, now which will be magnificent... yet not too quickly or they might could confess their agency is a lie of guy. Oh and J.Smith is a prophet... a pretend prophet

They tend to be very good and moral people. In their actions, they lead perhaps a very Christ-like life. And that should not be under-rated. But their doctrines are not, of course, mainline Christian. This does not mean they are wrong. But they do believe some things which make them very different from other Christians.
So I think it is understandable when some Christians insist that Mormons are not "Christians." I guess it just depends on what the correct definition of "Christian" is, and I don't think everyone agrees.

Mormons are Christians.
Mormons is the nickname of the Church.
The official title of the Church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"
If you would like to learn more about it you can go to the official Church website at www.lds.org
Some of the Basic Beliefs are:
We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
We believe that when Christ came to Earth, He set up His Church with prophets and apostles, then after Christ was killed and apostles, the true Church was eventually lost from the Earth. In the latter days the Church has been restored to the Earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith ,when he was a young boy, was wondering which Church to join...he could not figure it out, even by an appeal to the Bible, because the different Churches understood the same passages of scripture so differently....So what he ended up doing was that He asked God which Church to join...he was told to join none of those churches at that time...and eventually the true Church was restored through him.
We also believe the Book of Mormon to be true ....it is another witness of Jesus Christ (in the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses shall every word be established)...
We have a living prophet and apostles.
We believe in Revelation, that you can get answers and direction from God.
It is the one and only true Church of God on the face of the Earth. Some other churches and organizations have much good in them, but as far as the Priesthood Authority....the power and right to perform sacred ordinances...that is held only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As a child I would read the holy scriptures, I have read it in two different version, in Spanish as well as English currently reading a new version that uses the modern english language.
Always feeling spiritual hunger I have studied different religions, and I have to admit that the Mormon's as well as the Jehovah's witness have been the closest to follow the scriptures.
From the abstaining of alcohol/drugs/certain animals and blood to rituals and also abstaing from images that is condem in Exodus 20:4.
There is no harm in learning about your friends religion, you may learn a few things from them, that otherwise you may have been oblivious to, and vise-versa. Once she see's your hearts desire to learn more about her belief's she'll probably let you in on her too.

Mormons, while being hard working, family oriented people, are not true Christians. The Mormons deny the deity of Christ and they have a lot of odd beliefs, such as: Jesus was the brother of Satan, we can become gods ourselves and have our own planets, we obtain eternal life by earning it through our own works.
