2 Corinthians Chapter 10
1 Now I myself, Paul, urge you through the gentleness and clemency of Christ, I who am humble when face to face with you, but brave toward you when absent,
2 I beg you that, when present, I may not have to be brave with that confidence with which I intend to act boldly against some who consider us as acting according to the flesh.
3 For, although we are in the flesh, we do not battle according to the flesh,
4 for the weapons of our battle are not of flesh but are enormously powerful, capable of destroying fortresses. We destroy arguments
5 and every pretension raising itself against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive in obedience to Christ,
6 and we are ready to punish every disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
7 Look at what confronts you. Whoever is confident of belonging to Christ should consider that as he belongs to Christ, so do we.
8 And even if I should boast a little too much of our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for tearing you down, I shall not be put to shame.
9 May I not seem as one frightening you through letters.
10 For someone will say, "His letters are severe and forceful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible."
11 Such a person must understand that what we are in word through letters when absent, that we also are in action when present.
12 Not that we dare to class or compare ourselves with some of those who recommend themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.
13 But we will not boast beyond measure but will keep to the limits God has apportioned us, namely, to reach even to you.
14 For we are not overreaching ourselves, as though we did not reach you; we indeed first came to you with the gospel of Christ.
15 We are not boasting beyond measure, in other people's labors; yet our hope is that, as your faith increases, our influence among you may be greatly enlarged, within our proper limits,
16 so that we may preach the gospel even beyond you, not boasting of work already done in another's sphere.
17 "Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord."
18 For it is not the one who recommends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord recommends.

Becoming an expert on anything, even something so simple as Christianity, gives one confidence. One of Christianity's selling features is its ease of mastery. Just don't do anything, don't cuss, don't go out, don't drink, don't play around, and you're suddenly one of God's chosen people, a near perfect being destined for great things, when you die. You see a lot of teens falling into this trap, trying to spread the word, standing up for what they think they believe.
But as they get older and their fears increase while their minds wane from disuse you start to see in their eyes only one thing: death. Thoughts of banning books, beating kids, stopping sex, ending abortions, making everything not in the bible illegal, praying, praying, praying, death.

The Holy Scriptures talks all about existence of God, How He created the world including all species in it, giving guidance to His human creations with a "holy" spirit which He had given to each of us (like His), also on how to live in this world in accordance to His by-laws or covenant, also constitute His plans in soul/spirit savings (thru Jesus Christ mission in case we get lost or temporary snatched by satan), and the grand plan (revelations) that if we overcome all the challenges of life, we will be marching towards eternal happiness with Him.
It means..The Holy bible is everything.
You just ask about confidence?...too easy... for a very complex , blessed and beautiful life He gave us.
Just for the sake of answering your simple problem...there are too many topic discussed about CONFIDENCE in the bible.
Give you just one example:
...when God chooses a prophet to speak for Him to the people or authority and the prophet would say: Lord I am not worthy to do your mission, I am very weak, shy, I don`t know anybody in the authority, I am not knowlegeable on your laws, etc.etc.etc
...God replies: Don`t be afraid, I will be with you in every steps of your way, just go and talk to them...and I will speak for you.
If you did what God has told you to do the 1st time...then you will gain self-confidence (from self-experience) to do His missions the next times around...although you had the confidence already given by God (being walking with you.)

Don't rely on Confidence. It's not everything...Pr 14:16 -
The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with great confidence. Pr 25:19 - Putting confidence in an unreliable person is like chewing with a toothache or walking on a broken foot. Luke 18:9-14 (Read it)Php 3:3 For we who worship God in the Spirit are the only ones who are truly circumcised. We put no confidence in human effort. Instead, we boast about what Christ Jesus has done for us.
Our confidence should be in God, (Ps 56:4 O God, I praise your word. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?) in His Word, (2 Corinthians 3:12 Since this new covenant gives us such confidence, we can be very bold.) and in His promise to complete the Work that he began in us. (2Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:) (2Ti 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.) (Heb 13:21Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.) (Jas 1:4
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing ) (2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began )
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF BECAUSE GOD BELIEVES IN YOU! YOU ARE THE APPLE OF HIS EYE. HE THINKS YOU ARE AWESOME! TRUST THAT GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE AND HE WILL LEAD YOU IN IT! HE LOVES YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN KNOW!

As far as confidence...and a Bible verse:
Proverbs 28: 1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
As far as make us think positive thoughts:
...hmmm...we get to choose our thoughts, He lets us choose what we think about. You are definitely allowed to think of positive thoughts and you are encouraged to do so. Where do our thoughts come from? There are couple ideas I have on that, but one thing I think that is very important is our "INPUT" ...whatever we let into our mind...is what will come out later....guarding what you see and hear I think is important if you want to control your thoughts...Choose good music and uplifting TV and movies....those kinds of things... I think would be helpful to you to have positive thoughts.

The part about thinking positive thoughts can be found in Philippians 4:8,
"Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
Check your thoughts, and if they do not meet the above criteria, try to reform your thoughts so that they do.
God can give us the confidence we need, if we do the right thing. When we do what is right, then we are entitled to inner peace, and God will give that to us if we keep our eye on Him, and have the right motives.

His name is our confidence. Look up the Name of God according to the bible. You find that He is Emmanuel = God with us. So if He is trully Emmanuel, you're never ever alone, He is with you every step of the way. He says that He is Healer = so whatever the pain, through Jesus we receive the healing (from a headache to AIDS, He heals today). He says He is Jesus = Saviour, whatever u cant deal on your own, He is there to save you from your enemy....
You just have to know what the bible says about Him and if you're a daughter of God, trust HIM for who He is and you'll find your confidence, and trust and peace.

I can not think of a bible verse to suit what you ask. only that God loves us and wont's the best for us. a long while back in counseling I went through many verses showing how God loves us and values us. if he values us then we must value ourselves. when Jesus says love others as yourself that does mean you need to love yourself first Good luck and remember God loves you more than you can ever love.

Personally, this verse is my favorite for confidence -
Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

John 3:16; THE PROMISES MADE BY JESUS AND GOD 1Cor.2:9;
Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
1Cor.15:22 AS IN ADAM ALL DIE, EVEN SO IN CHRIST SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE.
