Permanent straightening is a method that will keep your hair stariaght for 6-8 months if post-straightening instructions are followed. This does damage your hair to some extent, but not completely, if you actually make an effort to care for it. I have inherited curly and frizzy hair and have straightened my hair 4 times in the last 7 years. I did have hair fall after that, but regular hair treatment with hot oil, deep conditioning and after bath hair serum which contains essential vitamins has saved it. It avoids excessive drying and brittleness of straightened hair. Try going for a hair spa every month to strenghten your roots and also ease out natural frizz of your growing. Avoid coluring of hair or other chemical treatments during this period. There's no major harm in trying to straighten your hair atleast once. You won't get bald and ill-effects if any will be reversed once the chemical wears out.

Yes. But try rebonding method which originates from Japan and Korea. It is very EFFECTIVE but time consuming and expensive. But the results is "excellent", your hair will be totally STRAIGHT, silky, smooth and shiny. It is a popular method in Asia and is still as hot in Asian countries now. Rebonding requires about 3 - 5 hrs time and a good rebonding will last about 3 - 6 mths or more and it requires a good hairstylist's skills and effort to attain the perfection of a straight and silky hair. Of course, it also depends very much of the individual person's hair quality as well. Permanent straightening is very harmful because it is not using a good cream like a rebonding cream for your hair. Actually, rebonding is also harmful but not as bad as a relaxer or permanent straightening! Try it and if you need more info, find that online for Ice rebonding, Spa rebonding & Soft rebonding etc. But I'm sure if western countries have already adopted this rebonding hair method because this is the 4th time I'm answering such questions of hair straightening this week.

Yes it does. But I've heard that the Yuko Japanese Straightening system is supposed to be good for your hair. It is more time consuming and much more expensive than a regular straight perm.

no more then a perm. That's what they use for there solution, just ask the stylist to use a weaker solution and see how it goes, my daughter has natural curly hair and she looks beautiful.
