While you usually need to get a color on average every 6 weeks, there are various factors that effect how early you notice your regrowth.
If you color is fairly close to your natural color, you might not notice for a while. If you have very dark hair and you change to a very light color you will notice your regrowth sooner - sometimes even within a matter of a week. Your hair will still grow at it's normal rate, but it is the contrast between your natural color and your new color that will determine how soon it really becomes noticible.
In addition, while there are average growth rates of hair, the rate can vary from person to person. If you hair grows at a faster rate, you will notice your regrowth sooner than someone with a slow growth rate.

well hair grows about 1/2 an inch per month so your roots would show 1/2 an inch of your natural color in one month.

You will see your natural hair with in three weeks after coloring.
It means, about time to schedule your dye again.
