You need to consider something. When you ask God for something, His answer is either yes, no, or later. If what you want is not what's best for you, then you need to take His word on it.

Prayer is religion salesmanship. It makes no difference. The same thing is going to happen. People who pray don't get better jobs, they don't live longer or healthier lives, They don't do better at the race track or on Wall St. than non-prayers. Religion sells hope and this is a form of the hope that they sell. Desire something or some goal? Pray for it (if you're in a house of worship, put a little money in the basket) and hope that God answers your prayer. The same thing happens regardless.

We should pray as God directs for as long or as short as He desires. There are many scriptures which encourage persistant and prolonged prayer.

But prayer is not a slot machine i.e. if we keep feeding coins long enough, we'll finally win (get an answer). Prayer is conversation and communion with a person and as we get to know the Person -the Lord - better, we understand more how to pray correctly.

we should pray without ceasing. pray for your need or desire asking for God's will in this, trusting Him to show you His will. His answers don't always come immediately. when this prayer request comes to mind i think it is okay to tell the Lord your still wanting to know His will and remembering this request seeking His best for you. i don't think there is a magic number as to how long you should pray for something inparticular. and i don't think we should ever give up on our prayer request.

Depending on waht your spirit says, maybe a very long time.... the prayer of faith.

If you dont have the spirit, stop praying for other stuff and ask for a baptism of the Holy Spirit...he will answer and guide you in all areas of your walk through this world.

Bless you,

David

As long as it might take. There're three answer of prayer, one is 'Yes", second " No" and the third one is " Wait".
Sometimes God wants to you to wait to build your faith and to strengthened your character.
When God didn't answer 'yes' don't be disapointed, remember He's sovereign. Something good will always come out of that. He always have something instore for you. You just have to wait.
Ask Him to do according to His will, not your own will.
God bless

Until you get an answer. However, don't be fooled into thinking that the answer is always going to be "yes" (meaning you get exactly what you asked for). Sometimes the answer is "no" but we don't pay attention to it (because we don't want to hear it). At that point, you're just wasting your time.

Sometimes we ask amiss, we need to make sure our request is of God, and sometimes it takes prayer and fasting. There is no one answer to your question, but the Lord will lead you if you seek him with all your heart.
