because there is something under there that they don't want you to see... it is called their face... and apparently no one ever taught them that less is more when it comes to make-up.

Some Lady's' think they look better with all that make up on, they may think that they are ugly,or have a scarred face. Or have a problem with perfection. But most of those Lady's do not know how to put on make up. They need some help from a beauty expert!!!! I know what you mean!! Some Lady's can't see to good, and put it on like they are going out to the night club. If you know someone who does this you really should do them a favor and tell them they would look so much prettier if they would lighten up on the make up.

I think they are insecure and trying to look "perfect" some girls think flaws take away from their beauty...but in reality perfection doesn't exist. I think it's sad when younger teenage girls especially do this.
But worse than the make up I tihnk it's gross when girls go tanning so much thier faces look like mud. Not only does it look nasty now, but they are going to have so many wrinkles later! There's nothing bad about a light tan but geez moderation ladies!

OMG yes i have. lookes like they took a butter knife and spread the stuff on their faces. could be they don't know the proper way to put make up on, they think more the make up the more prettier they will be, or they don't have a real cute natural look. either way is not so nice looking.

I think we've all seen it. I think they think they need that much? Maybe they are insecure about their looks? Or maybe they don't realize just how bad it looks? Who knows....

Phyllis Diller for one--- it's called the "clown look" or happy hooker or slut on the street--- seriously, they think more is better when it is actually worse, much, much worse.----how about perfume? they do it with perfume also- you walk by and you literally choke to death---it's a mental imbalance I think.

They maybe hiding a BURN or disfigurement.
Most times they are hiding themselves.
Its a literal "mask" of protection for them.

my neighbor across the street wears crazy blue eye shadow. she is like maybe 60 or so and it looks funny as hell
