I recently ended a 3 yr relationship in which I got burned. However I do have a son with this man (who I just ended the relationship with)so we will stay in contact. I have met someone else. He is also out of a long term relationship in which he also got hurt alot. He wants an exlusive relationship with me but I am not sure I am ready for that, I may want to play the feild. I really like this guy and I am afraid I will loose him bc he dose not agree with playing the field. He thinks its cheating even though we only been on 3 dates. I dont want to hurt him but I am not sure what I want. I am 22 yrs old I am not a kid but this could turn to out to be something really good for me. I am not sure he will be able to become emotionally available to me. Should I just give him time to open up? or should I cut my looses? Thanks for any light you could shed on my dillema.

Well if you have been on only 3 dates and he thinks your cheating already, I dont know if that is a good sign. Your young and think you should see what your options are..and if he can not understand that your not ready to settle down again then he is not worth waiting for.

wow. difficult predicament. date other people, loose him, stay with him, loose every other option. that's tough. well, it depends. are you good at dating? are you good at meeting new people and such? if not,t hen stick with him because it may be easier.

but you're also looking at another risk. if you stay with him and let him open up, you'll both be more attached. if he doesnt open up, then u'r stcuk cuz now u'll really hurt him.

so here's wht i think: give him A LITTLE time. a couple more dates. but dont get serious, and dont show him any seriouseness. act like you're still just testing the water. be a little distant from him. this might force him to open up, and it will give u enough space to get out if you have to. once you feel like he's what you really want, then go for him. but if he doesnt, then duck out.
