How about D. None of the above.

Sunni Islam is the original islam. Shiites believe a prophet came after muhammad or something between those lines, and sufism is almost a new religion, nothing to do with islam.

Better for what?

If they are Muslims, each is as "good" as the other.

Note to dmx-2-2pac: Your information is incorrect about Shia believing that there was a prophet after the final messenger. The major difference in belief between sunni and shia Islam is about who is supposed to lead the Muslim people after the death of the Prophet (pbuh). There really is no major difference in belief, so since neither the sunni nor the shia appointed rulers continue to rule, seems a good time to set our differences on the back burner and work toward unity for a common purpose.

None of those is better. If you want to learn Islam then you should follow the standard and main guidances, they are Al Qur-an and Al Hadits (words from Muhammadur Rasullullah SAW) [SAW = peace be up on him]
Sunni is not the branch of Islam religion. Sunni just a political group as like as Shia because of their different think about the leader after prophet Muhammad.
Sufi as like as bikkhu in Buddha. They isolate themselves from world. Islam does not teach us to avoid world but it teach us to be active in this world [Hablun min an-naas] and to be active for akhirat (the last realm) [Hablun min Allah]
I hope I can satisfy your question.

My note for Sunni and Shia :
Please unite! We are being attacked by Allies. Do not fight each other. We had lost Afghanistan and Iraq. Do you want to loose Iran, too ?
Forget about all differences. We must unite!

Sufism is to leave all pleasures of life and have the only pleasure of loving god and worshiping him, its good but its not easy, and it needs will and strength.

I remember that the prophet once met 3 men, one said to him that he never married for worshiping god, the other said that he fasted all times for the love of god, I don't remember what the 3rd said, but the prophet replied : " as for me, I marry, and I fast sometimes and eat sometimes , . . " so try to understand that god sent the religion on earth to help us to live, organize our lives and lead us to the path of the truth, not to take us from all pleasures of life, it just organizes it.

As for being Sunni or Shea, I respect Shea and I consider them Muslims after all, but I always feel they are kinda fanatics, moreover they change many things in what the prophet teached us, sometimes they believe that his cousin Ali, is almost a prophet, they just blame themselves for killing him earlier, while Islam is much easier than that.

My advice is to do something simple, leave all this, and take your teachings from the holy Quaran, and the holy speeches and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH )

There is no Qur’anic verse or any authentic Hadith that says you should call yourselves Sunni, Shia Hanafi, Shafi, Hanbali, Maliki or Ahle Hadith.

If anyone poses a Muslim the question who are you, he should say “I am a Muslim, not a Hanafi or a Shafi or a Ahle-Hadith”.

In Surah Fussilat chapter 41 verse 33 Allah (swt) says: “Who is better in speech than one who calls (men) to Allah, works righteousness, and says, ‘I am of those Who bow in Islam (Muslim)?’ “[Al-Qur’an 41:33]

The Qur’an instructs, “Say: I am of those who bow in Islam”. In other words, say, “I am a Muslim”.

The Prophet (pbuh) dictated letters to non-Muslim kings and rulers inviting them to accept Islam. In these letters he mentioned the verse of the Qur’an from Surah Al Imran chapter 3 verse 64:

Say ye: “Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (submitting to Allah’s Will).”[Al-Qur’an 3:64]
