Hey, Denise W must know what she is talking about. I just counted the big feathers on the turkey tail that is mounted on my wall, and there were 17. There are 13 of the smaller feathers in the row in front of the big feathers. There might be more on other turkeys. Maybe they get more feathers as they get older? Good luck with the sculpture!

Hi,,, hmm,,,, i dont think that there is a certain number of feathers on their tail.... a best guess would be 20 to 30....
call a taxidermy place, they may can tell you a better answer..
