Patience. If you are the love of his/her life, he will be back. If not, it wouldn't have lasted long anyway. I let the love of my life go about 12 yrs ago. He never came back. He would call occasionally just to see how everyone was doing, but he went on with his life and I did as well. I am very happily married now to a man I absolutely adore and love, but you always remember the one that "got away" and I think part of that reason is because they "got away". You always wonder, but if I lost my husband now, I know I would never be the same. He is now the love of my life and as far as the other love, he was just that, the other love that I will always think of and remember as long as I live.

I hate to say this, but YOU DON'T, I mean this person may be the LOVE OF YOUR LIFE, but the feelings may not be the same towards you, and you are going to fight a losing battle. It is hard to get over this and it hurts, but don't continue to beat yourself up and keep getting hurt, you will find someone that is going to make you happy. As long as you can understand that this LOVE OF YOUR LIFE, is not coming back.

Well if they were the love of your life, then what was the problem that broke you up?
I have found that my life's circumstances that sometimes the person we 'wanted" the most was not intended for us.
The right one will come along, and it won't be hard work at all.
The right person makes everything "RIGHT" not just a part of you some of the time.
Best wishes.

If they still love you then you need to deal with the things that caused them to not want to be there. What can you change in yourself or the situation...and...
If you are not the love of their life, they will always be trying to leave again.

If its just that they broke up with you or you broke up with them...You don't.
Go on with your life. Heal. Learn to live and love yourself. Then, after time (3-6 months) if she hasn't called, send her a card and just say "thinking about you". If she still doesn't call, she's no longer interested.
If you messed up, learn from your mistake. She'll see the difference. Don't stalk her - that will push further away. Give her space...allow her to miss you.
