Domestic abuse is only a misdemeanor the coke junkie boyfriend would be out in 1 day and probably a lot sooner then that because your friend would most likely refuse to press charges and it wouldn't resolve anything. The best thing to do in this situation is tell your friend that you are there for her and let it go until she comes to you other wise you may just complicate things and **** off her and her coke junkie and lose a friend and gain 2 enemies instead so even though you want to the best thing to do is just provide moral support and let this relationship run its course. Believe me i know exactly how angry, frustrated ,and helpless you feel but till the girl realizes she can and and needs to get of this relationship, just watch them two very closely and be a friend to the girl and let her learn this lesson the only way she can the hard way.

Only if SHE asks you to. The fact that she has remained with someone who beats her, and probably is abusive to her in other ways, shows that she is not ready. She needs to have a plan of action for where she will go, and how she will make a living without him. Hopefully there are no offspring to worry about.
I hate it for you. I used to have a friend in the same boat. The last time he went off on her she couldn't walk for two days because he broke something in her back. She called me, but wouldn't let me call the cops or take her to the hospital. I DID take pictues of the gigantic bruise accross her lower back for her records.
You may make the suggestion that you will either call the cops or take her to the ER. It is up to her to decide. Best Wishes.

I'll bet fat cash that she does it with him. Talk to her, tell her to get out, but until SHE is ready to get help, she won't. If, after much insistence from you, she refuses, distance yourself for your own sake. You can't carry her cross for her.
You CAN call the police to report it. Unfortunately, the results will be better if there is visible signs of abuse and witnesses. She DOES NOT HAVE TO PRESS CHARGES. Laws are different now, the STATE will stand in and charge him even if she refuses. It is done for her protection and changed because many victims are fearful of further abuse or death if they send the abuser to jail. Watch COPS, you see it all the time.

Well if you are a true friend yes you need to help her get out of there, why would you even need to ask a question like this, I mean if it were my friend and I was true to the friendship I wouldn't have to think twice about it. If you are worried that she will be mad, then to bad,she will get over it and you may even save her life.

Yes call the police. She might get upset with you but wouldn't you rather have her alive and mad than dead? Don't hesitate. You could be saving her life.
