Unfortunately, it is true...
The significances of Jesus' death on the cross was like a sacrificial animal an appeasement to God. Just like in the story of Abraham being asked to sacrifice Issac to God, a blood sacrifice was considered the highest form of tribute to God in many religions. Abraham did not have to kill Issac thanks to intervention of an angel of God. Seems the lesson is lost in the New Testament. Some how God not only starts accepting human sacrifice, but he takes his own son. What a twisted tale.

It is a matter of God's "sovereignty". His right to direct our lives. He gave everyone free will and with this we are ASKED TO WORSHIP Him.
Satan claimed that we will only worship God because of what's in it for us. This is a lie and makes Satan ' the father of the lie'. Also, the angels, who also have free will, are looking on. If we were 'forced' to obey and worship, we would be no better than programmed robots.
And it would show God to be ONLY powerful. But the Bible says that God is love. That is His primary attribute.
When he created Adam and Eve, there was no mention of them having to die. It was in God's plan for them to live forever. It was ONLY when they disobeyed that the penalty of death was imposed. Genesis 2;17.
And because Adam was created perfect and lost us the right to live forever, then it would take ANOTHER perfect man to "buy" it back for us [ We have all inherited death from Adam]
That perfect man was Jesus, supplied to us in the the most gratious act of love ever, by his own Father, Almighty God, Jehovah [ Exodus 6;3]
So a price has been paid and after Armageddon, all those who survive will no longer die. Because it has been promised that death will no longer 'be'.
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

He forgives us indeed. We just need to ask forgiveness.

Jesus was the very center of God's will. Jesus gave His life for us, nobody took it. God said that the wages of the son is death...we wuld not makeit without Jesus. So His death was the payment for our Salvation if we just accept this gift.

I do not know any better way of love than with a choice. He could have made us like puppets, but we have our will. He could have made us to be like we are going to be in heaven = not wanting to sin and wanting to love Him, but He gave us a choice.
Jesus died for ALL of our sins. All the sins we have done and we are doingand all sins we will do. God's mercy and grace is a great gift. We just need to accept it and recognize the One who gives it.

God didn't kill his son. We the people killed Him. Because we are not good enough to go to heaven, God loved us so much that He provided a way. There was no sin until Adam and Eve followed Satan's temptation. Then throughout time people sinned. Since we were so sinful God sent His son to teach us how to live and have eternal life. We did not follow. Jesus was perfect. He understood each one of us. Because nonbelievers hated Him and were jealous that people followed Him, He was killed. Because God loved us so much, he allowed His son to pay for our sins so we would have eternal life. Jesus ascended into heaven with his father where God wants us all to be.in his time.
I hope this helps.

There are many attributes of God. God is Love. God is merciful. God is kind. God is Just. God is Grace. God is Longsuffering. God is Patient.

So, God cannot tolerate sin. Sin is what separates man from God. The penalty for Sin is Death. God, because he is Just, cannot just turn His head and pretend that sin didn't occur. That would go against His very nature of being Just. So, someone had to pay the penalty for sin, which is death. He chose His Son, who was the perfect sacrifice, without sin, to pay the price for you and me.

You and I can forgive someone for doing us wrong, because we are not purely Just. God, because of His Justice, demands payment. But, because of God's grace, He made the payment for you and I.

So, we either accept this gift or we reject it. A God of love, mercy, grace, and justice would let His only son take our place and pay the penalty for sin on our behalf.

God wants to forgive us, but He's first a just God. If someone has sinned, it has to be paid for. Since we've all sinned, we need that sin to be paid for, so Jesus lived a perfect life and died. He rose again, however, bc He had no sin of His own. So now, it's like a credit, good for as many sins as He needs it to pay for. Anyone who decides to follow Him will have their sin taken and placed on Christ, and it'll all be paid for by His death at judgment.

Hey. God is not judgemental. He has nothing to forgive because he dont judge. Judgement are human attributes. But you must be careful of your action's consequences though. Jesus walk the earth to show us how to live with unconditional love. Jesus die and rise to show us that we are not just merely flesh and bone. The true us is our soul. Why live in guilt? Do you think God judges you? Why think he does not forgive you? I dont think God will give us freewill, but if we choose what not pleases him he will judge us. Isnt it make God look hypocrite? Giving freewill, which is not really a free will? i dont think of God that way. Bless you

I think that God blew this one. Allowing his son to die when it accomplished very little, as the majority of people on this planet are not Christian. Jesus would have accomplished more if his dad allowed him to live and continue working his miracles. God could have even given him immortality. Wow! How could another religion compete with that?

Christ had to die because God has to follow the law.

The law must be fullfilled. Humans violated it. Either, we all die and suffer an eternity of seperation from God, the very source of love Himself, or Christ suffers our punishment briefly, and we are forgiven and allowed back into God's grace.

It was all part of God's plan! Humans haven't even the knowledge He has to understand why He did it! I agree with David T and the answerer below me!
Jesus loved us so much that He didn't want us to perish in hell. So He died for all gentiles so that we can be forgiven by God/
