i believe it was aztec who sacraficed because they were the 9th sun (i believe tht's the correct number) in which their god sacraficed himself to give us life, so he expects sacrafice in return.
i will back you up here. there will be many nay-sayers here sayin god doesnt want human sacrafice, but here's your proof from your own precious book:
At the LORD's command, a man of God from Judah went to Bethel, and he arrived there just as Jeroboam was approaching the altar to offer a sacrifice. Then at the LORD's command, he shouted, "O altar, altar! This is what the LORD says: A child named Josiah will be born into the dynasty of David. On you he will sacrifice the priests from the pagan shrines who come here to burn incense, and human bones will be burned on you." (1 Kings 13:1-2 NLT)
And this became a hidden trap for mankind, because men, in bondage to misfortune or to royal authority, bestowed on objects of stone or wood the name that ought not to be shared. Afterward it was not enough for them to err about the knowledge of God, but they live in great strife due to ignorance, and they call such great evils peace.
For whether they kill children in their initiations, or celebrate secret mysteries, or hold frenzied revels with strange customs, they no longer keep either their lives or their marriages pure, but they either treacherously kill one another, or grieve one another by adultery, and all is a raging riot of blood and murder, theft and deceit, corruption, faithlessness, tumult, perjury, confusion over what is good, forgetfulness of favors, pollution of souls, sex perversion, disorder in marriage, adultery, and debauchery. For the worship of idols not to be named is the beginning and cause and end of every evil. For their worshipers either rave in exultation, or prophesy lies, or live unrighteously, or readily commit perjury; for because they trust in lifeless idols they swear wicked oaths and expect to suffer no harm. But just penalties will overtake them on two counts: because they thought wickedly of God in devoting themselves to idols, and because in deceit they swore unrighteously through contempt for holiness. For it is not the power of the things by which men swear, but the just penalty for those who sin, that always pursues the transgression of the unrighteous. (Wisdom 14:21-31 RSV)

The requirement of blood is directly related to God's righteousness. Being perfectly just, he cannot allow sin to go unpunished, if he did, he would then be unjust, and no longer God. If your mother was killed by a drunk driver and the judge let the offender go you would be outraged because justice was not upheld. God is likewise outraged with sin because all sin is ultimately against him. Further, God is a being of infinite worth, therefore crimes committed against him are of infinite severity and deserve corresponding punishment of infinite severity. We are only finite which means in order to pay an infinite sentence we have to give everything we have...our life.
The Old Testament blood sacrifices were only intended to be word pictures pointing to the day when Christ would bleed. It was all meant to point to that day. That is why we no longer sacrifice animals. Animal sacrifice is a shadow whereas Christ's death was the substance.

There is no greater or more meaningful sacrifice than life, and our life is in our blood. God gave His only Begotten Son to die for our sake, and the animal sacrifices that were performed before Christ came were to symbolize and stir up a remembrance of what Christ was going to do. When he DID it, bleeding from every pore in the Garden of Gethsemane and bleeding on the cross, and giving up his life, then he fulfilled the law of the sacrifice and it is no longer accepted by God. God and Christ gave the greatest sacrifice to us, not the other way around.
As for what you read, I don't know where it's from but it's partially true. If a resurrected body is perfect, then there will be no blood because blood is not pure and is prone to disease.

God tells us in the Bible, that it is not sacrifices He wanted. He just wanted obedience. Since we/mankind/the Hebrews, weren't always obedient to God, He gave them sacrifices, as repentence for their sins. He would have much more prefered them to just obey Him. But, by Him giving the ultimate sacrifice for us...because He loves us so much, which was His Son, Christ was the final sacrifice, for forgiveness of sins, and they never need be made again. Now, all we need do is ask God for forgiveness, and through the blood of His Son, we are forgiven.

You know, there is something inherently pathetic about some guy typing away on the Internet and making fun of men and women who had the spiritual nerve to sacrifice their loved ones.
Something tells me they were experiencing the universe in a much more real way than you.

The people of the Middle East knew nothing of the Incan or Mayan people, so your logic is not sound on a number of levels.
