i love dogs, and i owned a couple before but was never able to house break my dogs, this was 5 years ago,
now i moved into this brand new house, i want to get a dog from the shelter because i want to help, but most shelters dont house break the dogs
i know one shelter that house breaks dogs, which is circle tail but the selection is very limited.
i live in cincinnati and am willing to travel up to dayton or xenia if there is such a shelter that house breaks pets, that would save my day :
so again my question is ::
are there any shelters in cincinnati that house trains dogs?(as part of their service in spaying and such)

I must honestly tell you that most shelters are not set up to be able to housetrain a dog. Most are over crowded and short handed and not a lot of time to train the dogs they rescue. I have been a rescuer for over 14 years now. Most shelters have the dogs in cages or pens, not a house. Most don't have the area or people to walk the dogs to grass even. You are asking a lot.

A rescue might have more that are housetrained if they have foster homes where they get more one on one. Owner releases may come in with more info as to how that dog is. You could check out rescues in the area instead of just shelters whre they put down real quick. A rescue is apt to keep longer and have more time to work with each dog. Go to Petfinders.org

It takes time and patience to housetrain but most dogs will prefer to go outside, especially if they were outside dogs all their lives until rescued. We seldom hear of a problem with our dogs learning to housetrain even though they have been out in big pens at the rescue. Good luck on your search

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aL1wU

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Sometimes there are house trained pets at the shelters. You just have to ask. Usually if a pet is house broken, then they will tell you.
