I told my girlfriend to please stop talking to her ex, who is a very abusive person, but she kept on telling me that he wasnt like that anymore, and they were just really good friends now, so later on i was suppost to see her in the house, that is when i see her ex and a couple of his friends, talking to her and her ex was grabing her by the arm and stuff, so i got off my car go see whats going on the he pulls her from the arm and throws her in the floor, so i go up to him and i just stick him in the face, and kept on hitting him until his friends came up to me and started jumping me, i got my a** kicked but atleast i knocked him out, so police come and i get arrested, and have to do all these anger management classes and stuff, and this is like the third time i get in a fight because of her, so i decided to break up with her, did i do the right thing, or should i give her another chance?

You know something you did the right thing by breaking up with her, she doesnt want to listen to you apparently and she gets herself into a mess and just expects you to come and rescue her she is being stupid about this whole thing. I can see if they were just friends and he doesnt bother her anymore but apparently thats not the case he still bothers her and treats her like crap. So my advice is to do your anger mangement classes and dont bother her, cause you keep on trying to save her and yet you get in trouble and you have to do all these other things to keep yourself out of trouble that she is putting you in....no its not worth it for you so just leave her be and get your life fixed and worked out. Good Luck

Wow. That's a dilemma. You must be feeling a lot of different things right now. Well, here's the kicker (pardon the pun), but let her go as a girlfriend, but be there for her as a friend, but detach yourself in a healthy way. She's deep into this problem. IIt is a complex issue and by getting yourself involved, you are also risking your own future. She needs to work this out herself (a therapist would help), but she also needs to have someone to be there as a "support". Be her support, but don't get too involved.

It's probably wise for you to get a little distance from the situation at this point, but please make sure that she has support from someone and knows that she does not have to return to her previous abusive situation.

It's hard to know you can't save a person, but she ultimately has to decide the she no longer needs to be around someone who treats her like that.

Time to take anger management classes for yourself.........

To stay with your girl friend? THREE TIMES in trouble with the law? Not a good sign..............
