implantation bleeding?

how long does implantation bleeding last?? can someone explain this to me...i dont know too much about it...lol

with my first pregnancy I had bleeding/spotting for over a week, never enough to wear more than a panty liner. My second pregnancy I had less than a day. It varies, which is why everyone asks that question! LOL!

Implantation Bleeding:
Implantation bleeding can be one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms. About 6-12 days after conception, the embryo implants itself into the uterine wall. Some women will experience spotting as well as some cramping.


The spotting or bleeding just comes from the embryo implanting itself. It shouldn't last more than a day and it should be just a little spotting... nothing too major.

Implantation bleeding is extremely rare, less than 2% of women experience it. If you are one of the few that do, it'll be very light spotting for no more than a few days. What it is is bleeding from when the fertilized egg implants itself in your uterus.

Implantation bleeding can occur at any time before 10wks gestation. Once the egg becomes fertilised it attaches itself to the uteran wall and in some women aggravates the lining of the uterus making it bleed. If this happens you usually bleed brown blood and it can be anything from a few spots to quite a fair bit of blood as long as it doesnt become fresh and it doesnt come with pain.

I had this type of bleeding at 6wks preg. I bled a fair bit and went to the hospital. Everything turned out fine and im now 34wks. Its always safe tho for your peace of mind to get it checked if you want.

I spotted for about a week, like once a day. it scared me too. I only saw it in the tissue though. light pink color. It started at 8 weeks pregnant.
