If you found out that the catholic church was hiding a lie that would undermine all Christian beliefs, and they had gone to all lengths to hide it, and you could prove to the world that it had lied to the people for all this time, knowing that social order as we know it would probably disintegrate, and you would destroy many people's faith and purpose in life, would you let the world know? and why?
(If you've seen the DaVinci Code or Stigmata you get the idea of what I'm asking).

Consider that this is going to happen in the future. The day will come when we make contact with intelligent life on other planets. And what if they never heard of a man living in a cloud concept? How does their society function without religion? We have to start weening people off of a God concept that came from ancient people who thought that the Earth was flat and takes so many lives.

They have been hiding a lot from the people. But people want to be cheated. Even if you tell them they wont believe you. If one is set in their ways no one can tell them anything. So many people know the Catholic church has been hiding so many things Such as Reincarnation and hell is a temporary place and Christ was a Vegetarian. But they are too afraid to change. Better to have some faith than completely destroy their faith. It takes life times to get the whole picture. Or you can get it in one. Its all up to the individual. God has all the time in the universes. go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com for universal truths

Beyond doubt. I would publish it all. There are things that are hidden by the catholic church. I'm sure we all know of one or two. Like priests and young boys. Some faiths might fail if truths are told. But isn't that better than forcing people to live lies?

I believe the revealing of truths, and dispelling of myths, actually brings people closer together in Christ or by conscience.

It would fulfill the purpose of the "Catholic" church to be truly "universal" by reconciling with all other tribes and nations of people otherwise excluded or divided by religious false teachings. And indeed the new Pope has called for more inter-religious harmony and understanding.

Everyone has this power to change the world. Just by making peace in our daily relations with other people. If everyone resolved conflicts in their personal lives, collectively that amounts to world peace.

The only thing missing is faith that we can forgive each other and cooperate where there has been gross injustice and wrongdoing, injury and damage. Judgment from past wrongs keeps sides divided, and that is why we still have war.

Notes:
Besides the genocide of earth goddess and matriarchal tribes before Christianity and patriarchy dominated, which I believe led to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to reconcile the spiritual imbalance (see http://www.houstonprogressive.org/genocide.html)

Another major concept I believe will change the world is the idea that Buddhism and Christianity are not divided, but that Jesus joins the two as one, by reconciling the natural laws of the secular gentiles with the sacred laws of the churched.

The same way the Catholic church first rejected Greek ethics as apostasy or heresy outside of God or the Bible, but later reconciled these as consistent with church teachings due to the work of Thomas Aquinas; many priests have found that Buddhism is equally consistent, harmonious or complementary with Christianity and is not against it.

Buddha can actually be taken to be a true prophet of God like Moses because he equally gave witness to the coming of Jesus Christ as universal messiah. See also http://www.myworldconnections.com/buddha.html
http://www.houstonprogressive.org/repentance.html

Gautama Buddha prophesied the coming and return of the final Maitreya Buddha to bring about enlightenment, as the equivalent stage of salvation where the spirit of truth comes before Christ returns as the Messiah with the Holy Spirit or Comforter.

As Jesus told of sheep he governed in a separate fold of the same flock, or the Gentiles, his fulfillment of both the prophecies in Buddhism as well as in Mosaic Scripture equates to reconciling natural laws with divine laws in the spirit of truth and wisdom. So between the two major tribes, the secular Gentiles and those under the sacred laws of the Church, the natural laws and the divine laws can be shown as equally fulfilled in Christ.

first of all, I don't believe in the DaVinci Code.

The Holy Bible was already in place many, many years ago before the Catholic religion came about. Many of Jesus' disciples put their lives on the line and were martyred, killed by the Roman Empire (who established the Catholic Religion), because they believe that Jesus is the Messiah and was raised from the dead. The Ghnostics were the ones who put doubts on peoples' minds about Jesus being married to Mary Magdalene.

Three of the original disciples of Jesus Christ, who were with Him here on earth, never mentioned anything about that in their writings about Jesus Christ and they wrote the gospel at different periods of time and they were already separated many, many years ago when they started writing the gospel. Surely, one of them will write something about it and surely they will not allowed themselves to be in danger of death if they believe that Jesus was a hoax. Jesus appeared to them when He was raised from the dead; so there's nothing the Catholic religion can hide, because there is nothing to hide.

God is the only one who has the power and He works in mysterious ways. I rather believe Him, than mere humans who were not there when God walked the earth.

Seen both, love both. And yeah, I would tell the world. If that's all some people live for, then they need to experience more in life anyway. I think most people would rather know the truth than to continue to believe something false.

Collaboration of this magnitude would have been exposed long ago, wouldn't it? The Catholic Church is not Kentucky Fried Chicken with its trade secrets. I'm sure it would have liked to keep its problem with pedophile priests in-house.

well of course i'd tell the truth. why would i allow my fellow humans to continue to believe a lie if it were in my power to free them with the truth? that's a no brainer.

I would have to consider the end results first. By destroying the established order, you open the door for others to fill the void and they may not be that pleasant either.
