fresh air, the colder the better, if you get warm and sit still, you will make yourself very tired. keep moving! have a cup of strong coffee, but only one..............if you overdo the caffeine it will dehydrate you and make you pee! drink plain water - cold. splash cool water on your face. soak your eyes in cool compressesses made of used tea bags or cucumber slices. avoid foods that make you sleepy such as poultry, milk, pasta, and anything heavy or greasy. also avoid sugar cuz it will give you an immediate high, but then you'll crash and be twice as tired. best foods to eat to stay alert are: fresh raw fruits and veggies-cold tuna salad. whatever you eat, dont overload! a too-full stomach makes you feel tired.

Let us reverse the situation. Instead of thinking what will make you more peppy during the day let us think about how to get sleep. Read a boring book while lying in the bed. You wont even realise how fast you will go to sleep.

I drink STRONG coffee in the a.m. I have a baby that doesn't sleep through the night and loves to get up before the sun. I like a strong coffee or espresso. Starbucks makes a good espresso that sells for about $6.

It may be more than a lack of sleep It may be a disorder of inability to sleep. It might have to do with adrenal fatigue. I had this problem for years and blamed it on stress. I work out regularly yet couldn't sleep and lived on coffee. I finally started havign serious heart problems and a friend saved my life when he pointed this website out. Both my wife and I have done this; you will feel remarkably better in three weeks.

You need to find a way to get some sleep! Can you get a prescription sleeping pill from your doctor? That's what I do - they work a lot better than the over-the-counter ones. Drinking loads of coffee alone won't help you. Your body needs sleep!

Walk the dog. Drink cold water. Stay busy. Exercise to near exhaustion. Drink triple espressos. Vitamin B complex, calcium and magnesium 2:1, loud crashing, jazz, or toe tappin' music.

Above all, don't nap during the day!

try not to drink coffee. It's really bad for your heart. Ok, do this. (it's gonna sound really weird, but it works.) Have 2 cups of tea and save the tea bags. Put the wet tea bags on your eyes for 5 or 10 (15 if your desperate) minutes. You'll look 'fresh.'

Keep active during the day. I'm most likely to crash when I sit down, but when I'm moving and getting things done, I don't notice as much how tired I am.
