Well, you're stuck. Personally, I think it's less wise to look for a belief that "suits" you than to search for what the truth is.
Stick to the bible....better to come around to what is so, then seek out what isn't so, just because it sounds better to you. And I mean no offense by this.

Look at the Wonders of the World.
Have you entered into the Treasures of the Snow?
When I was young, I would go out into the Snow and be Completely mesmirized by the Wonders I would see, especially around small Streams of Water.
Lakes would be Frozen over and you could Skip Ice across the Top along way.
There are Wonders all around us Everywhere. Beauty abounds and some say that the Quiet of a Forest can help Heal.
This is Truely an Incredible Planet to Live on, its Wonders to Behold.
Hope this helps!

Make the absolute best out of the life you have. If you really don't think there is anything else after, then it is your obligation to yourself to live every day to it's fullest. Do the things you dream about. If it turns out there is something else, then you will be so much the better at that time. If not, then you lived the one you have to the fullest.
Some would say that if you said a very short prayer every day and asked for nothing else but faith, sooner or later, you would receive it. If not, then stop torturing youself and enjoy each and every day. Not one single person can tell you absolutely one way or the other, so stop worrying about it. You are wasting the time you have!

I was there. I wanted so much to believe that there was a God and heaven, I just couldn't. It didn't seem possible. My brain told me they were just stories made up to give people a conscience. Then about a year ago, I was and am still going through a crucial life change that I couldn't accept. The only thing that was helping me to cope was prayer. I found a church and I am still struggling with my life situation, but with God in my heart, I will get through this. Keep your heart open -- He'll find a way in!
Death is just a part of life. We will all die...we're in this together. Don't dwell on it...just live the best life you can.

Wow, that's an insurmountable wall in front of you there, by the bye! Let's just stand in awe and look at it a while.
Damn, it's huge!
Let's sit at the base of it and have a tot or two of whiskey. We'll talk a while and share a story or two, and in the mornin, by the bye, we'll go back to work and sweat away our life until the end, and keep an unquenchable hope that all will be well. Be good and don't worry. Take care of those around you. Be kind, courteous and hard working. That is all we can do.

Doesn't make sense to long for it to be true in your heart of hearts yet not accept it. This question is probably the least of your spiritual issues I'm guessing. You are miserable if you have hope of this life only is what the Bible says and you have confirmed that to be so! But, there is HOPE of ETERNAL LIFE. If someone came up to you and offered you an unbelievable sum of money won in the lottery and showed you valid proof, you would not make yourself miserable by saying "It just can't be true" and never stick your hand out and go cash the check. Salvation and eternal life are better than that by far and it's yours for the asking. God doesn't lie. Jesus said He has gone to prepare us many mansions and if it wasn't so, He would have told us otherwise. If a wicked sinful Father gives good gifts to his natural children, why wouldn't God give gifts to His? There is LIFE IN CHRIST!

I hate to say it like this, but...get over it.
Everyone dies. It's not something to be feared, but accepted. If you can't accept the belief of an afterlife than don't. Instead, why don't you live the life that you have now to its fullest?

Why are you so scared of death? It's just a natural part of life. I confronted death in the face and lived to tell the tale. It isn't that scarey unless you decide to make it so. Everything that begins must end and everything that lives must die. But, in so doing, we make the way for new things and new life. That's not a bad thing.

Here is the way I look at it. I believe that our bodies are just the vehicle to get us around this plane of existance. Our bodies eventually wear out and "die". The thing that makes us who we are, lives forever. The only "death", is that of our vehicle. Think of it as trading in your vehicle for a new one. Hope this seems like something for you to grasp on to.

You have to understand the whole picture. You are eternal(always existed and always will) you are spirit soul part and parcel of the Supreme Soul. You never die only your body dies. The soul is transmigrating from one body to another due to Karma (reaction to our previous activities) So due to karma we get another body and so on and so on. When one is tired of this birth, death, old age suffering, disease, then they begin to question their existence and have a chance to get out of the material illusion. This is not our home. If you are interested in going to reality and unlimited happiness. go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com Read how the universe was created and our Purpose In It. Or any books there are great.
