And wot is it that a female can be subjected 2 that a man cant in so far as temptation goes? Certain books of the bible were written denouncing females the right 2 lead cause that church was falling apart & the blame went 2 the females. I think tnat if the woman has a heart after God & can lead, then lead.

I suppose it depends on whether you accepts the teachings of Paul of Tarsus as canonical. Paul says women are never to lead men, and says they are not to ask questions about religion in public, only at home privately to their husbands. What if the husband is less knowledgeable than the wife?

1 Timothy 2

11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women[a] will be saved[b] through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

1 Corinthians 14

As in all the congregations of the saints, 34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

It is wrong for anyone to lead a church if he/she is not called by God. But is God calls a woman, who are we to deny her? Personally I think most of the time the pastor should be a man but God doesn't call someone to serve without giving him/her the ability.

This is a hard question. I think that God can very well call a woman to lead a church as a Pastor (after all He did it in the OT with judges, there were a few women judges) The sexism in the bible is more culture than what God wants. If a woman is truly called by God to Pastor, than I think it is OK. However women should not seek this role just to prove that they can do it. This is a very serious role and takes a lot of responsibilty over many people.

Yes... a woman is not to be the head over a man... and a woman is to keep silent in The church...this is interpreted to mean in the interpretaion of the Word...which is part of the duty of a pastor, or shepard of God's flock... women can teach the young child and instruct other women...just not take the position of interpreting Scripture....If, no man is present who is able to teach what has been interpreted then a woman can pass this information. But not expand on it as a pastor would in interpreting. the woman is not The Head of the man.... the man is the Head of The woman as Christ is The Head of The Church.

I don't think so, yet I am not totally comfortable with it.
I LOVE sermons by female preachers, but leading the "household" of GOD, Hmmmmm.... Since the man's role is to be the head.
But as our households are...if the man in the house does NOTHING and appoints the wife to do the leadership duties, who is to say the female preacher's husband didn't give her his blessing in doing so.

IF GOD callled her to lead because the men in the church are not "ready" to, then so be it. Who am I or anyone to argue with who GOD put in office. GOD IS THE HEAD anyway, RIGHT?
It is no different than women being Senators, council women, etc and any position of authority govening men and ladies. We vote for them, don't we?

It is entirely up to the members of the church. There is no general right or wrong.

Boy, wilI I get it.

YES!
Eve was deceived first, and the Bible says that her desire is to be toward her husband, but HE shall rule over her.
This is not implying rule, but spiritual authority. He is created to be her covering, her protection.
Nothing changed since. Women can be apostles, prophets, teachers, lead ministries but not congregations. Pastors are positions of authority.

No. We have women priest, bishops and the first women Presiding Bishop. That means she is the head of the whole Episcopal Church in the U.S.

it is a very debatable issue. I can't say I personally would choose this but I can say I am open to the possiblity of God using a woman in any matter He calls them.
